Under the statue of Eros - which isn't really of Eros at all, but is the "Spirit of Arsing About with a Bow and Arrow" and - as my brother so rightly reminds me - is made out of tinfoil.
And here, crossing the road, absolutely bang on time, come the lovely Ame and the equally lovely Bear. Yaaay! Hi, guys.
They are bearers of bad news. Last night at the restaurant, some dickless piece of shit stole Ame's bag with all her credit cards, driver's licence, photos of the boys, cool shades, the lot.Bastard!
The only good thing is that Bear had her passport.
So our devastated duo have had to spend this morning cancelling cards and sitting around in a not so beautiful London Police Station.
Max-strength bummer!
Being Ame and Bear, however, they can still smile, because they're just such cool and lovely people.
And Ame even submits herself to the indignity of a photo with Old Dive (who should have learned by now never to wear horizontal stripes, but hey, it's Six Nations and I'm in rugby mood, so the incomparable Leicester Tigers' shirt simply has to be worn) …
Hennyway … We duck down into Yoshino's basement and come up with a goodybag full of sushi and miso soup, with which we will do what Dive does an awful lot and have ourselves a Piccadilly Picnic.
And Look! Wherever Ame goes, she brings that old California sunshine! Hoorah!
And this one's for Gaijin Girl … Looky, GG! Natto sushi! Mmmmm …But all too soon our little lunchtime soiree is done and Ame and Bear must head off toward the Eye, with maybe a trip to Harrods after to point and laugh at that ludicrously tacky statue.
They fly back home tomorrow lunchtime and I'm really gonna miss them.So wave a tearful farewell (at least until Ame gets home and cranks up her Santa Clara DP) to those lovely blogsters Ame and Bear. Come back soon, guys!

Oh Ame i'm so sorry and, frankly ashamed, that your bag was stolen. It happens such a lot.
You both look great once again and Dive you too - erm... how exactly is it that you're single, again? - i've so enjoyed this photoblog Dive, job really well done.
Sorry to hear about the wallet Ame. I was nowhere near London! You look good with the hat off!
Dive, good to see a pic of you finally - looks good - stripes and all :)
Hope to chat with you when you get home & see the pics that you took.
Sassy. What are you doing here? McIntriguing awaits, and we want all the gory details!
Ame:
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! indeed!
You two are just so totally amazing. When I've done Japan and have saved up to attack America, look out Santa Clara! (and Robyn,Sassy ands Prudence, too).
Thank you both for a wonderful time!
XX
Thanks, Lynn. I'm still single because I am obviously so totally wonderful that the weemen cannot bear it (hee hee).
And thanks, Nikon. It'll be good to see Santa Clara DP get back up to speed (and see Ame's photos of Bath).
Some short coffee break fiction at my Things UK blog Dive - after that photoblog you deserve a chilled escapism break.
Monsieur Dive,
You have been the greatest host to both Ame and M. Bear, AND to all us rabbbbble throughout voyeur land !!! We have all appreciated enormously, your wonderful guided tour of London and the wit and humour that we have come to love about you. Yer dun good Cobber. I still can't really work out who's the handsome coot with Ame in the green and pink rugby top. I was also mighty relieved to see Ame still had her digital camera, praise the Lord.
To Ame and M. Bear, safe and happy travels back across the 'drink'. We look forward to more insane revelllllries when y's all get back home.
Merci beaucoup et bon voyage à vous tout.
Lynn, I'll be over there at coffee break. Nice to see you back from the clutches of flu.
Monsieur B.
You are too kind.
Blighty will be a strangely quiet and disappointingly grey place without the California Duo in it. They will be getting ready to head for the airport as I write this.
Have a safe (and non-delayed) trip home, guys.
Let's look forward to more craziness from Santa Clara DP.
nice to get a glimpse of the tourguide, you big spunk.
Hee hee, Old K. I think Bear must be hung well enough to scare the bejeebers out of lady donkeys.
"Big Spunk" GG? Hee hee.
I'm thinking of starting my own clothing brand, "Fat Ugly Balding Middle Aged Man". There's a huge (fat) market out there
he he thanks Dive, good to be back. Love the name for your clothing line. I reckon it would catch on like crazy.
Awesome!
All that looks like so much fun. Real pity about the wallet and stuff, though. But dang, if I ever make it to London, I know who to call! See you back at Santa Clara then, Ame. Have a great flight.
Good to see you back, Utsav. You'll have to keep us all updated on your Bhutan trip and the wedding et al.
And great new photo, by the way!
