It's monday, so it must be:
- Over-running engineering works fucking up the trains.
- An office full of grumpy bastards.
- The Fracas Monday Melee. Yaaay!
Last Monday I dealt with such boring subjects as politics, religion and death.
This week:
1: The Misanthropic.
(Name something you absolutely hate).
This week I have been mostly hating myself.
2: The Meretricious:
(Expose someone or something that's phony, fraudulent or bogus).
Insurance companies.
Q - What's the difference between an insurance company and the Mafia?
A - If you pay money to the Mafia, they'll protect you.
… Oh, and they dress better, too …
3: The Malcontent:
(Name something you're unhappy with).
The stupid trapped nerve in my shoulder. It keeps waking me up in the middle of the night. Bastard!
4: The Meritorious.
(Give someone credit for something and name it if you can).
This week, I give credit to Japanese womanhood, for being so cute it hurts.
5: The Mirror.
(See something good about yourself and name it).
I've stopped wearing Hawaiian shirts.
6: The Make-Believe:
(Name something you wish for).
All the chocolate in the world.
Tune in next Monday for another installment of carefully targeted hatred and bile.

It's a good thing about the hawaiian shirts, given your location. Can't appear to be too cheery in winter.
It's not too cheery at the moment. It was minus six in Norfolk yesterday and it's due to get colder by midweek with strong winds. Brrrr …
But mostly my decision was because middle aged men in Hawaiin shirts look like dorks.
Bring on the hatred and bile. That's what I keep coming back for.
Excellent move re the Hawaiian shirts, too.
Hawaiian shirts are a dangerous thing. Unless worn with great irony and care, they say, "I'm a sleeze ball. Wanna see my gold chain?"
Judging by the verdicts of three women whose taste I admire, the Hawaiian shirt / dustbin interface situation was the right move.
Now what else should I ditch from my wardrobe?
Hehe, you might need to write an inventory of what you have, with accompanying photos, and put them up for vote.
Would that make it a virtual makeover?
It's boring stuff, GG.
Other than suits'n'shit for work, it's mostly just black 501s, black teeshirts, black sweaters, black, black, black …
I like black.
An office full of grumpy bastards, I can imagine you walking in like a ray of sunshine.
A SEXY ray! ;) Morning DB! You could upscale and substitue a dark wine color shirt for the black one...love THAT color...waddya say girls? Black and dark maroon? And let's say you add a nice cardigan sweater, maybe in an off-white, you know, the kind those crusty ol' sea captains wear in the fishstick commercials, over your shoulders, preppy style! ;)
Guess I'll tackle the MIMI...nothing else to do? =)
Still swoonin' over those snaps DB!
lol Old K more or less what i was going to say. Also, why do you hate yourself Dive?
Ah, Mister K. Thank you for reminding me that Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
Hi, Ame.
By coincidence, I've just bought a dark maroon cashmere sweater. I'll see if I can remember to wear it when we meet up.
And Lynn; This blog isn't big enough to list my self-loathings. Just take 'em as read.
GET OUT! Really? GREAT CHOICE! Better wear it or ELSE! ;) GMTA! (remember that acro?)
GMTA?
No idea, Ame. I looked it up on Google and it's either the Georgia Motor Trucking Association or the Green Mountain Transit Agency.
I'll wear the sweater just for youhoo.
ROFL! You crack me UP DB! Great Minds Think Alike...and I added another Giverny snap just for U! =)
You spoil me, Ame.
That's a beautiful shot of old Moanie's house.
Hawaiian shirts may be what insurance reps wear.
I think it would nice of you to post a picture of you wearing such a shirt. We promise not to laugh. Well, we promise not to describe our laughter in your comment box. We could be doubled over on the floor in a full belly laugh, and you would never know.
You mean, like we always are, Robyn? oops
Not me DB...nope--not gonna be a part of that party! I have your BEST interests at heart! Poor Baaaaaaby! ;)
I'm not sure I have any photos of me in a Hawaiian shirt, but I'll dig around and try to find one.
I'm used to ridicule …
