Blue Gold Pink Red

Just for a change, here's Monday's sunset from the office (Tuesday it was so foggy I couldn't see across the river)

Things started off kinda blue with a golden yumminess down on the horizon.

Then some pink came along and got all tangled up in it.

And eventually it got sort of reddish purple all over. Sweet, huh?

In The Days Before Television

The caption is the original one; I simply couldn't better it for silliness.

Worth Every … er … Penny

I am tempted to bring back the 500 Words short story writing club, if only we could come up with titles as good as these.

Taco Haaaat … Fuck, Yeah!

It's Friday.
Put on your taco hat, fill it with hot, spicy goodness and bring on the weekend.

You know you want to.

Selections Sent For Approval …

Once again: no captions or alterations necessary.
Balm, trusses and creepy photos: I do love Victorian advertisements.

WTF Monday - Careful With That Gate Latch, Sir

Genuine ad from the British Library's stash.

I always thought a "Prince Albert" was a cock ring … Ah, the perils of an English grammar school education. Hey ho.

No Captions Necessary

This is for Petrea, who suspected that I drew these things myself.
I merely added the captions to the ones I've been posting of late from the British Library's online collection of old illustrations, but some of them need no captions as they are mad enough in themselves.

I'll have two-shillingsworth of whatever Holmes used to stop his high wind troubling him.

And here's something for the ladies. We gentlemen - and apparently "the whole polite world" - would prefer it if this year you crushed your ribcages and rearranged your internal organs with the apparatus below.

One wonders who Dorothy might have been and what she had done to deserve that.

Here's to an elegant and graceful 2014.
