Old Ladies' Wee

You all know the feelings of deep joy I experience at the thought of my seven hour a day commute.
And you all know my feelings on mobile phone shouters and screaming kids on rush hour commuter trains.

Time for another bugbear:
Men who sit with their knees as far apart as they can possibly stretch them. You know who you are.

Listen up, guys!
The ONLY people who are allowed to sit like that are old ladies who have wee'd themselves.
That's just what you look like, opposite me on the tube, taking up three seats.
Why do you sit like that? Eh? Why?
Is it to show the whole carriage that you're hung like a cashew?
Twats!

So anyway, this morning one of the "old ladies' wee" men gets on the train at Ipswich and sits next to me.
I travel in cattle class. The seats are a regulation three inches wide (just wide enough for my cute ass).
I'm dozing happily, Bach's Goldberg Variations tinkling away on my iPod (Murray Perahia's perfect rendition; Glenn Gould's a bit histrionic for early morning listening), when I'm suddenly subjected to extreme gay leg action. This oaf has jammed his leg halfway across my seat, forcing me against the side of the train.

Now I'm not the archetypal Englishman who refuses to make a fuss.
I am the one who stalks down the carriage to say politely but firmly "This is a mobile free carriage. Please take it to another carriage or switch it off" (back in the golden age of rail travel it used to be "This is a non-smoking carriage. The cancer carriage is at the back of the train. It's the one that stinks").
I can get away with this. I am six feet tall and stocky and I have an expression that says "No Means No."

So back to this morning's gay leg rubbing session:
I don't really want to wake up, so I start tapping my foot in time to the music, hoping that would put him off …
Nope.
I can see John on the table opposite grinning at my discomfiture, so I try a different tack.
I turn to the guy and place one hand on his newspaper to get his attention.
He flicks his head round in an annoyed fashion to find me smiling at him and looking straight into his eyes.
I say (quite loudly):
"You are an attractive man, and I'm very flattered and all, but …"
And I rub my leg quite hard against his.

John explodes into gales of laughter, waking half the carriage, trying to force his fist into his mouth to stifle it.
And the guy turns bright scarlet and mumbles an apology. Had his leg shot across the carriage any faster it would have broken the sound barrier.
I spent the last hour and a half of my journey trying to avoid John's eye and enjoying loads more space than I normally would as Mister "old ladies' wee" was hanging over his armrest into the aisle to get as far away from me as possible.

It was almost worth the commute to see the look of horror on his face.
So, guys. Let that be a lesson to you. Sit properly for all our sakes, you dickless dorks.

when you get to a certain age any human contact is welcome, you heartless bastard, you bring it out in us old guys.

lol well done Dive! So annoying these people. It's a macho statement of course saying i'm the Alpha male here, in control and master of the surrounding space. In their heads. In reality they're just saying 'i'm an insecure twat'.

Some fresh coffee break fiction over at Things Uk if you're up to some respite.

Hee hee. I certainly wouldn't have pushed you away, Mister K, you handsome devil.
And hee hee, Lynn. To me it says "old ladies' pee" and "hung like a cashew" as well as "insecure twat".

I have a coffee here, so I'm on my way over to your place now. Toodle pip.

Nice move, Dive!
He was probably just airing his brain.

Yay. Ranty Dive is back. I hate it when men sit that way, like they're just daring for a good swift kick. Good for you, and a clever approach to claiming your due personal space.

Thanks, guys.
And the third "hee hee" of the morning goes to Robyn for her "swift kick".
YOW! Now I've got to sit with my legs crossed. That just doesn't bear thinking about.

I thought all those blokes "can't help it", poor things, because it's "really uncomfortable" to maintain any sort of dignity. Hence the "giving birth to triplets" stance. They're not implying that they're hung like a mule by any chance, are they?

There's this movie, a forgettable Jane Fonda / drunk / murder mystery (well obviously not that forgettable) with the FABULOUS Raul Julia in it, playing a very heterosexual hairdresser. No question about which team he played for.

ANYWAY. His place of work gets done over by the FBI, one of whom calls him a 'faggit' and asks if he's queer or sump'n.

Hairdresser steps RIGHT up close, WELL into Offensive Guy's personal space, and whispers throatily, 'How badly do you want to know?'

Oh, my, how I loved Raul Julia.

WOW! This is the PLACE to comment Divey Boy! Can't believe OBB didn't rattle off ONE cussword...HE deserves the ASSker (see Rich's room) doncha think?

Hmmmmmmmmm...all this crotch talk is quite refreshing...I guess places on that train can get a little sweaty...people do strange things on UK trains I noticed...on my way to Bristol...

Don't worry DB...it didn't involve THUMB-sucking...but it WAS dodgy!

I'm going back to my corner to hide now...

Dickless dorks - brilliant. I've always had a theory that men who take up too much space are trying to compensate for their tiny dicks. Good on you for getting all macho and ranty and standing up to him. Perhaps he'll think twice before rubbing up against someone else's leg.

Good one Dive. I once had a similar situation only it involved my best friend and a pest. We were out dancing one night and this guy wouldn't stop bothering her. She had told him several times she wasn't interested but he was too shitty to understand evidently. So, me being me, I walked up to them and grabbed her by the face and planted a big ol smootch square on her lips, turned around to him and said, "the Bitch is mine so scram" and he ran for the door. All of us girls giggled all night.

Hee hee.
Excellent, Prudence!
Now you're going to get some of the guys all worked up thinking about that (hee hee).

And Betty. I can sit with my legs together and I have a penis and balls big enough not to need to drive a Porsche, so why can't they?
Obviously dickless.

Excellent, Mangonel. And welcome!

And Robyn, too. Raul Julia ruled. A tragic loss.

Ame: Now we're ALL going to have to know just what happened on that train.
C'mon! Fess up!

And thanks, GG and Lynn.

Sorry, Prudence. I'm still chuckling. That's just too cool and funny.

I only wanna put in the tip!

Sorry Sassy if I inadvertanly smeared your good name.

Dive is getting all unnecessary!LOL I think that must be my favorite British saying. It is so reserved but says so much!

Ame said...

Pru...just remember...in the UK, I think it's 17%! And they usually inCLUDE it...;)

I need to be unnecessary sometimes!

Can ya lend me some DB?

Hi, Sassy. How's the girl?

Just look up the comments list and say after me: "Yikes"!

Hee hee … Well you did slip your tongue into her mouth …

Ame said...
