Kate's Strange Environment

A new challenge from Kate this morning:
Write your daily post in a strange environment and in fifteen minutes.

Hokay …
Well first up: the Klingon-speaking, comic book reading, anorak-wearing, slobby, personal-freshness-challenged geeks from IT have taken away my lovely 17" widescreen Apple Powerbook, so I'm stuck with writing it in the office or writing it at home.
I'll write it here in the office, as the people in this room are as strange as anywhere else I know. I'm currently peering over my monitor at three Kiwis, one South African, one Pole, One Aussie, two fat baldies, a Morris Dancer and Auntie Pauline. Which is why I have built this wall of G5s to protect me.

Second up: the lovely, smartly-dressed, polite, ever-helpful, culturally sophisticated and extremely cool and sexy underwear models from IT have promised me my new 17" widescreen Apple MacBook Pro, top spec laptop by Friday.
So I'll be able to chill out and watch DVDs on the train again when I'm supposed to be working.
And from next week, I'll be working from home for three days a week!
Yip - and indeed - Pee!

So … Boring as Hell and completely un-ranty, but at least I wrote it in under fifteen minutes in an environment that's pretty strange.
Over to you lot.

Nice sycophantic ramble there, i like it. I suppose my Things UK could be said to have been written in a strange place today, since it's a long time since i've been in that position. (You'll see, if you get a min) so i think i probably qualify. Glad that from next week your life will become easier Dive, you deserve it.

Cheers, Paddy.
I just checked your profile and now I'm gonna have "Twisted" stuck in my head all day.
Which I don't mind at all.

LYNN!
Don't get me all unnecessary with talk of positions.
Doh!

Yay for new Macs, especially the portable kind that let you watch movies on the train.

I just posted a tribute to John Steinbeck, so once I am in my strange new environment at the office, I'll see if it can be rewritten under different circumstances.

Hey there, Robyn.
So, the cute girl with the big ball has grown up into the cute office exec.
I somehow don't think your first day in the office should be spent blogging, but what the heck; that's all I seem to be doing …

And yaay for new Macs indeed. Tell your office IT department you need one (that's all I did).

Goodness what with talk of positions etc., i've arrived to collect my spanking, Dive. Now, how would you like me best (oh let 'em wonder); is this okay or would you like my legs outstretched more?

I KNEW it! I knew you were sweet on Robyn. KNEW it, you dark horse you. Robyn where are you, what's your response, yes yes we know you're happily married and all that and that's great but my goodness you have been CHOSEN. (yes it IS always the quiet ones you have to watch). She is lovely though and just look at those cheek bones...

Oh, for goodness sake.

You are the new Barry Manilow of Blogging. I remember when you would just sit on a train, stare at people and fall asleep with drool dripping doon yer chin, watching DVDs indeed.
