So … Training day … No amount of swanky outside catering is worth that kind of teeth-grinding, arse-numbing mind-cheese …
What did I learn today?
I learned the "Flying Chef" can't make mochi for shit.
I learned not to look at the clock (at least I learned not to scream when looking at the clock).
I learned that the wise man times his flu bug to coincide with training day (nice one, Tim).
I learned to calculate how many fibres there are in the boardroom carpet (count 'em yourselves).
I learned I have conjunctivitis in my right eye, probably through boredom rubbing.
I learned that JJ got a stiffy while he dozed (much giggling).
I came home.
End of training day.

Training days or meetings days of any kind or miserable ways to spend time. Back in my dark days of selling insurance, I had to sit through endless insurance seminars that aged me. So, I'm sorry for your day.
It's a lot better now, thanks Robyn.
Back home with a cup of green tea, my blogpals to catch up on and a good book.
Tomorrow I'm working from home, then I have my end of term japanese exam (which I'm really looking forward to), and then it'll be friday.
Big happy smiley Dive.
(Except for my sore eye, but I've got some drops for that).
Oh dear. Well, you didn't see what I saw today. Wait for future post.
Hope the exam goes well and that your eye clears up.
Wait for future post?
How can I possibly get any sleep now?
My nasty little mind is a mælström of disturbed and frankly pretty silly visions …
Women … You're all the same … You get me all excited and then say you'll post it to me later …
It's up. You can see it now.
Conjunctivitis is vile, i wouldn't like to have that again, arigatogozzaimassu. I wish you well with the drops. Your evening sounded very cosy i must say, i'm quite jealous having just crawled to the end of a long cupboard to retrieve some lost (i'm sure i had more than that!) xmas decs. Nearly fell over and spiked myself on a knitting needle too. Did i just admit to knitting? Nah, must have been left by my visiting mother.
I'm trying to contain my excitement, Dive, that a publisher is reviewing my novel blog, perhaps even as we speak. Or perhaps not; it's gone midnight. I should sleep... but how can i, knowing that? Fingers crossed for me? Your comments there no doubt will help as it shows that people are keen to read it so ... i thank you. Updating with more, hopefully tomorrow.
Hope you can see clearly in the morn. And that the rain has gone, and you can see all obstacles in your way. Gone i hope are the dark clouds that had you blind...
lol sorry . Attack of the lyrics.
Mochi? That is some very specific catering for an office training day.
And if you don't mind...just how did you learn of JJ's stiffy? Great adjective by the way...you WERE in a BOARD room right? ;-) Just humor me...I don't get out much! Fun blog...I'll stumble back and check in on the fun & frolicing!
Sassy: I've seen it … Ew!
Lynn: Fingers and all other extremities are crossed. If they're worth anything as publishers, they'll snap it up as it's brilliant.
My eye is less red and sore this morning, thanks. The drops are working.
And what's wrong with knitting? Come out as a crafty woman and join the ranks of Peahen and Sassy, et al.
Hi, TOG: Our company looks after us pretty well and we have a sashimi club here which spends at least one lunchtime a week in the Japanese restaurants around Piccadilly and Soho. So they try to cater for us in the office (not always successfully).
Welcome, Ame! it wasn't me who noticed JJ's stiffy, but Melissa, who sat opposite him. The pointing and giggling just travelled round the table …
Board room … Hee hee.
I keep getting drawn to your blog from Lynn's site. It makes me hate living here in rainy Britland. I sit gazing, longingly at all the sunshine (the Apple HQ post is pretty groovy, too).
My brother almost went to work in San Diego last year. I begged him to go so I'd have a legit reason to visit California, but he stayed here in the rain instead, the fool.
Lynn, I don't know you but I'm excited for you anyway. Let's hope all works out well with your novel!!
