The Idiot Diet

Stupid things to do on a wednesday, no.1:

Follow these instructions:
Having eaten nothing but pain for four days (that's the hurty thing, not French bread), and having not slept at all for four nights, get sick of being sick, drag your stinking carcass out of bed in the middle of the night, suffer a three and a half hour commute in the pissing rain, dash headlong across London, grab your usual organic fairtrade latte from the Brazilian deli, take off coat, drink coffee, look very confused, turn white and pass out on the floor.

Wake up in a shivering caffeine frenzy with a fucking great lump on the back of your head.

Drink lots of water and eat toast. Feel like a dork.
Your boss will not think you heroic for struggling into work; he will tell you that you are stupid.

That's today so far. Still shaking and twitchy. My head hurts.

Don't try this at home (or at work).

You're a trooper. I'm sorry to hear that you are still so sick!

I'm a dork.
I should have taken the rest of the week off.
Having said that, I feel a lot better now and I've got lots of lovely work to catch up on.

Glad you're feeling better, and even if you're not yet 100%, I reckon being up and about (I was going to mention fresh air, but I forgot you are in London) is better for recovery than stinking at home.

Well, I'm glad you are feeling better, but it sounds like it was a bit foolish to go to work.

I haven't mention of being contagious. Are your coworkers praying you down with Lysol or just avoiding you?

I'm past contagious, Robyn.
And as there are only three of us in here, the rest being off with the bug, then I have a feeling I know where I caught it in the first place.

In fact I'm back to sweary normal, having done some nice 3D stuff for a post, only to find Blogger won't let me post pictures.
May the Lord smite Blogger with his big Lego hammer.

Glad to hear it.

I'm listening to the Iraq Study Group state the obvious now.

Oh, that sounds awful. You really should go home. (Although you probably are home by now.) Anyway, feel better!

Thanks, TOG. Yes I am home now. And I'm working from home tomorrow which should give me the chance to recover properly and not fall over like a fool.

Sassy, I've been reading the report on the train on the way home (downloaded pdf from the BBC).
I've just posted on it.
