She got spooked by all the frosted spiders' webs festooning the little monkey puzzle tree I grew from a seed and planted in my mum's front garden (don't ask) …

So as I was in Suffolk doing the Christmas card run, I thought I'd take a few more snaps to freak her out some more (sorry, Robyn). That's mum at the window. She says "Hi".
This is the season when all the British spiders (except one, rather oddly) get broody and start making spidey babies. Our gardens are garlanded with pretty webs like this. They look lovely covered in raindrops but even better in the frost.
So apologies to all you shrieking arachnophobics out there, but spideys are our friends, so the webs are staying, at least until the spidey babies have fled the nest.Pretty, aren't they?
Mother Nature's own Christmas decorations.
Made from real silk, too.
Cool!

All right, damn it. I'll confess they are pretty. And I don't mind their general existence, but stay away from my person and my personal property, and especially stay off of my boat!
"Hi" to Mum.
Hee hee.
You're safe, Robyn; they're all over here as you can see.
It's pretty, but it kind of creeps me out. Seems like they should be making the babies around Halloween.
Oh, those are very pretty. I don't mind spiders, though, probably because we don't get the hairy frightening ones here.
Sassy: they start gettin' jiggy around Halloween (I think they find it sexy). Now's the time to hunt for egg sacs if you're feeling really creepy …
TOG: I'll send some over for you to play with (only kidding).
I love spiders, especially the really big 'uns.
This foggy weather seems to be making spiders go web-spinning crazy. A couple of days back I noticed that a spider had spun a thread from the top of one side of our fence down to the ground on the other side of the patio, as if building a cable car line.
It's great how they do that …
until I walk through the buggers in the dark at five in the morning.
By now, I have sense, maybe it's a false one, that all the nasty spiders have gone into hiding until spring. I don't see them until then when I walk into a strand or two every time I go outside. Then I feel like I've got them crawling on me all day.
Hi Mum.
No, Dive, that's just very, very scary. Touche. Please refrain from posting things like this again lol i'm totally freaked by anything spidery! Ugh.
Just for that, you have two festive postings waiting to delight you at my two photo blogs. Go and be delighted.
I like them spidey's.. thanks for sharing and say "hello" to Mom for me will ya?
Ugghh I hate spiders- six legs too many. I once unpacked my rucksack to discover that I'd been carrying on my back a huge momma spider carrying a whole pack of eggs. The thought still sickens me today. I screamed like a little girl!
So I go with Lynn on this one- "Please refrain from posting things like this again lol i'm totally freaked by anything spidery! Ugh" Say that again!
And a merry Christmas to all of you.
