Or rather: where was I when I took this exceedingly poorly exposed photograph?
If I'm a little terse today, it's because it's freezing here and due to get a whole lot colder (Siberia is coming to visit) and my back is still in agony and I'm going down with a cold which means I keep sneezing and each sneeze leaves me doubled up on the floor in pain and swearing like an Old Dive post, and Christmas is coming and you know how grouchy that makes me at the best of times.
So please cheer me up by making wild - or even educated - guesses at the photograph's location (no, it's not Hobbiton; I think you'll be surprised).
Toodle pip from Grumpyland.

That is a picture of a diorama about the making of the Hobbit. OR the set of The Holiday before the producers decided on a different location. OR it's your house on crack? xoxoxoxox
A botanical garden at dusk? Beginnings of a Norwich jungle?
A haunted cottage in Canterbury?
King Arthur's hideout?
Dive, if you don't know where you are I'm sure I can't help you.
Le Petit Trianon, Versailles? Sure, why not?
That's the house of they not-quite-evil-but-definitely-bad-tempered witch. Her familiar is a raccoon.
Hahahahahahahaha.
Thank you all so much for cheering my dismal and freezing Monday morning.
The photo is actually of this:

It's the 18th century folly known as Duck Island Cottage in St.James's Park, right in the heart of Westminster. From where I took the photo I could have turned around and thrown rocks into Downing Street … though not for long, as brightly dressed horsemen would have poked me with sabres to make me stop (the cottage is right across the road from Horseguards' Parade).
The photo is pretty much as it came out of the camera (the perils of snapping things as you pass without thinking about camera settings); all I did was darken down the bit around the door.
Are you feeling better?
It's warm outside, but my hands are still cold. Since I took my ADHD medicine, I can resist the urge to make a metaphor out of that...though the wicked witch comment...cold as a witch's finger? And you have a cold? Maybe the whole house is a metaphor. So much for the meds.
Thank you, sweetpea! I think I've past there before and never noticed! How jaded and sad am I? (Nevermind, don't answer that!) xoxoxoxo
Still crocked, thank you, Katherine, but gradually on the mend.
My old gran would have turned to you and said "Cold hands; warm heart" which is pretty much true.
Savannah, most people don't notice it's there as it is so weirdly out of place that their brains freak out and decide it must be an hallucination.
Which it might well be anyway …
xoxoxoxo
Poor Dive - nothing worse than a cold AND a bad back! I am sweating heaps over here by the warm sea, palm trees swaying etc etc Sorry! You need to come visit - Benson can walk up and down your back and we can ply you with G & Ts and you can sit in the warm water and thaw out........not at the same time of course - Benson doesn't like getting wet ha, ha!!
AUGH!
Now I have a cold, a bad back and climate envy!
