Today is the day of the office Christmas Party.
Veteran readers will know just how anguished is the howl that accompanies those dread words.
Here is last year's again, for anyone who wants reminding that we'd drunk the bar dry by mid-afternoon or who wants to see Kellie with a chocolate penis on her nose.
For those - like me - who don't want reminding, here's a teensy festive distraction.
I was in London yesterday and - as Londoners know all too well - there's nothing that dampens the festive spirit quite so effectively as a piss-miserable lunchtime of freezing rain in Regent Street.
For some reason I had a bloody Christmas song stuck in my head all the way from Margaret Street down to Mitsukoshi.
And now you will, too …

That is lovely, you must have felt the Christmas spirit! The folks at F&M
certainly will today if last years party is anything to go by.
Have fun.
Not much festive feeling yesterday: a grindingly dull meeting followed by a cold and wet walk.
As for today: as per usual I'm going to flee the office party before too much Christmas spirit gets imbibed.
Pity …you would have enjoyed our party last night, not many people lucky enough to have so many good musicians friends and have live music all evening how lucky am I…
How lucky indeed. I'd love a party with my musician friends and live music but today I'll be stuck in a room filled with work colleagues whose knowledge of subjects that I like such as classical music and good literature stretches as far as shouting about football and whining about babies and who will drink themselves insensible by early afternoon and then continue drinking heavily for a further twelve hours.
Roll on five-thirty on Friday!
Yes, now I do have that song in my head -- along with bits of others that have been blaring in nearly every store for the last month or so. Kind of a holiday music potpourri head trip.
I like these signs. They aren't so over the top as some holiday decorations.
I hope you survive your office party -- cheers!
Can't wait for the office party post.
Christmas is a time when music suffers for our sins, Ms.M.
And yes, the signs are quite tasteful; I particularly like the berets on the French hens; a nice contrast with Oxford Street which this year was sponsored by Marmite (more later).
Petrea, how I suffer for my blogpals …
