Fuck it! I hate snow with a passion; a passion so intense that the like of it is rarely seen outside of Mexican TV soap operas.
You guessed it. Hiver est arrivé and with it the swearing.
Outside my window this morning the fields are as white as week-old dogshit.
If I had any money I'd get the hell out of this miserable shithole and move somewhere warm.
Donations gratefully accepted.
While I wait for the cash and plane tickets to roll in - and because I know you like that sort of thing and I'm a kindly soul - here are some of the Christmas lights from my second spiritual home of Piccadilly.
Note the hordes of Christmas shoppers. Having taken away all of our money, the government now begs us to "spend our way out of the recession."
Yeah? With what, you fuckwits? We don't all have a forty million pound personal fortune like "Call me Dave; I feel your pain" fucking Cameron.
You've taken everything we have, you utter bastards. You've given it to your friends (£9 billion in UK bankers' bonuses this year alone - and all this mess is their fault) who have hidden it offshore.
Spend your OWN way out of the fucking recession.
Gits.
Can you tell that Christmas is coming? If you're new to this blog, don't worry; it's like this every year.
Bah, and a great big dolloping side-helping of Humbug.

Another pal was talking about wanting to spend Christmas in London and I said my best Christmas was spent in Paris! I'll send him over here to see your pictures and good cheer! xoxoxoxoxox
(I do hope you appreciate my continued effort to use capital letters and correct grammar when I post here!)
(It's because I love you.)
(In a sisterly fashion, of course!)
Right on, sister. Hee hee.
I've yet to spend Christmas in Paris. One day I hope to, though.
Christmas in London is actually pretty good (at least it is in Westminster; the rest of London doesn't count).

I'm with you on the snow. Bing leaves for India in 25 days and will be gone til mid April. Just the thought of a freezing cold snowstorm without her in our house with us almost makes me shiver with angst.
I DETEST snow.
And we put up our Christmas decorations yesterday, but truthfully? My heart isn't really in it. Both Bing and I confessed to each other that, without Liv, neither of us would have been inclined to bother. Gifts have been purchased, but just for Liv and our incoming Christmas guests. Our trip to see Bruce Springsteen perform was our gift to each other this year.
Bah humbug. And, btw....I miss you something awful, sir. Sat there smiling when I saw your comment on my blog....
It must be pretty bad over there, especially since the deer used as inspiration for those decorative "antlers" appear to have some sort of incredible genetic mutation. If the poor things could even lift their heads to carry those racks, they'd break their necks trying to run through the trees.
Your attitude warms the bi-valved mollusks of my heart. We've gone from pretty miserable to tolerable over here, but I loathe the ice and snow, as well as the thick, itchy clothing. The only thing worse would be NO thick itchy clothing to keep me warm.
I'm with you on the snow, too. It's fine if it's in the mountains, very pretty to look at. But it's a pain to deal with in the valley.
I'm intrigued by the "antler" decorations, too. They're classy. A tad different than some of these decorations:

I have always liked snow, but only when I'm indoors. Or in California.
Dive, your post made me laugh--not at you, because I know you're sincere and because I'm angry, too. But because you are not holding back and because you're right.
The same is true here. The Republicans think we should be raising taxes on the middle class--excuse me? The only way I'm going to pay an extra $2000 in taxes is to go further into debt.
I shouldn't say that, the bankers would love it.
Maria, I've been lurking and reading; it's just that I've been so busy (currently working seven days a week for four days' pay - yay Crapitalism) that I've had to cut my blog time to the bone.
Your Sven post made me cry, dammit.
A winter without Bing is going to be hard, but at least you can leave the towel askew for a bit.
Speedway, GM research has had some unexpected side-effects; the deer with giant bioluminescent antlers spooked people for a bit until someone with a gun realised Christmas was coming.
Ms.M. you have made my week complete. Tacky Christmas yards have their own website! Suddenly all is right with the world.
Petrea, if we can't laugh at them we'd have to kill them and I for one don't want to be dragged down to their level, so mockery it is.
Speaking of Christmas ... I got my page proofs from my editor last week. Such a small book, but it's going to look really nice, with a lot of pictures made into double-page spreads, which I hadn't expected. The publisher makes a quality product - nice layout and high-res images and my little book will profit from it, for sure.
Funny how austerity measures fail to stimulate the economy. Who woulda thunk?
I'm ignoring Christmas as much as I can.
That's wonderful, Speedway! A super Christmas gift. I'm excited for you and your book.
Yay, Speedway! I wondered why you'd been up and about twenty four hours a day; now I know.
I can't wait for the Amazonians to slip my copy through the letterbox.
Vanda, you and me both.
Me too, Petrea. I have such talented neighbours in Blogville; a bunch of books from Katherine, a novel from Margaret, and now both you and Speedway are joining the literary ranks. I love it.
That's great, Speedway!
