Roll On Spring

November 11th

December 11th.

Yes, I know it's not the same tree but the sycamore at the top is just a bunch of sticks now and not so photogenic.
I'm one of the old school who divides up the year into three month segments: Spring goes March through to May, Summer: June through August, Autumn: September through November and Winter: December through February, and these photos bear me out. The seasons lag behind the equinoxes.
Some fool, on the radio yesterday said it's not winter yet. Pah!

What a difference a month makes. The deciduous trees are all stick-like here, too, and it's definitely winter weather, regardless of when the solstice is. But we don't have snow in the valley -- yet.
Stay warm....

I divided the year that way when I lived in Illinois. We have seasons in California but they're subtler. Today was like a cold fall day. I'd like to complain, but then I come to Dive's blog and realize I can't.

What a difference indeed, Ms.M. The turning of the seasons is a sharp, right-angled corner.

Time, I think to huddle in the warm and wait for Spring.

Petrea, you can complain all you like; it's a basic human right and we should exercise it more often.
It's photos of sunny Pasadena that keep us northern folk sane through the long darkness.
