I am laughing here, sugar! Remind me to tell you the story about a bridge a well known American architect designed that was dubbed "The Sky Hook" bridge by the engineers and estimators present! xoxxoxo
Hee hee. We use skyhooks all the time here, Savannah. Where's the fun in designing buildable buildings? If an engineer asks me "How do you expect to hold that up?" I always reply "Skyhooks." They never fail.
Another one is unavoidably ugly services in prominent positions; my tactic is "Paint it red and make a feature of it." The "accidental design feature" is something I use a lot.

So is that blue thing going to be painted red? Honestly, I think the blue will go better with the sky.

In other words,"the building is made of glass and will reflect the skies ..." bit really means, "It'll look real purty and will blend right in" and you'll get a vinyl-clad double-wide with a plastic skirt molded to look like stones, set cheek by jowl with the Lincoln Memorial.
Looks like this ancient fortress is well-armed with a sky-blue blue missile. Or perhaps it's a new-fangled weather vane?

Yup, Speedway. Architects forget they're building in England, so when they build glass buildings all we see is a dark grey slab thanks to our weather.
Ms.M. I suppose it's no more outlandish than most of the other outcroppings atop the Tower, but I still find it ugly and unnecessary.
I agree, it is ugly and does not fit with historic buildings at all.
I personally like the non-reflective stone.
