This has to be one of my favourite photos of the year; taken on December 23rd. when Gerry and Old Dive hit the town to find it empty of pre-Christmas shoppers.
What we did find, however, was this Imperial Stormtrooper collecting for charity with his little girl.
How painfully cute is that?

Well, that's one way to raise funds, put a little pressure on to empty those wallets....
It is darling, yes. I think they'd do better if they dress the little girl up as a storm trooper, or Princess Leia. But it might be too cold out.
The Imperial Storm Trooper grimaces constantly because he has squared-off man boobs, which means his name should probably be changed to Thirty-two-B-Squared (Thirty-two-C-Squared in UK speak).
There's nothing that says "Please give generously" quite so effectively as an Imperial Stormtrooper pointing his blaster at you, Ms.M.
Definitely way too cold for Princess Leia, Petrea, though a pair of Leia-doughnut-hair fluffy earmuffs might have helped her.
I think he's grimacing more because of the restrictively tight codpiece, Speedway, though with the sub-zero temperatures that day I doubt it bothered him too much.
