Speedway, the thought of a woman blarting is too much for me right now.
Mum, I knew you'd appreciate it. Actually, that line "The Rain came down. The jazz band fled, leaving just a straw hat and an abandoned Sousaphone" would make a great start for a 500 Words story if anyone's up for one.
Poor sad guy. My word verification for the Crusty Old Men Talking post was "tubioned." Maybe that's the term for when a tuba is feeling shy—he is tubioned.
It's also a great pic Dive. Classic S-Curve and shiny!
I have been spending every Friday night with my daughter's marching band. In the home stands I sit next to the Sousa section where my friend's son leads off to Ozzy's Crazy Train!
American marching bands are strange beasts, Neetzy. We don't have school or college marching bands here, which is a bit of a shame. My favourite marching band moment came from a friend in the States whose band played a medley of movie tunes which included (and actually it's a great marching band tune) "Shut Your Fucking Face, Unclefucker" from the South Park movie. She's in the Mid-West so I don't imagine any parents in the crowd recognised it.
Hahaha! I love it. I endure the Friday night football games for the marching band shows! My daughter attends a small school which boasts the largest marching band in the county! I must admit they are quite awesome!

A funny scene -- I guess you could say it "rained on their parade"?
It certainly did, Ms.M. Luckily the sun came out later and the Sousaphone got to strut its blarty stuff.

Horn players have weird imaginations, Robyn.

Cool! If they make football matches worth attending they must be very good indeed.
