Sunbursts into a magnificent building is just what I need today. It has been gray and rainy all day, which is good because we need the rain. But makes for the "Sunday blues"....
Actually Bro it's inside St Peters and it is quite calm and hushed despite all the tourists. To give it some scale, the letters around the ceiling are 1.5 metres high and this is a side chapel. The main dome can fit the Statue of Liberty inside and still have room for a lampshade. It's a nice place to visit but go out of season. This was in February.
Stunning little church (hah!) and I agree with Full. Going very early in the day or in January/February works the best for fewer people. This is an amazing shot with the filtered light.

That is just right for a lovely sunny Sunday..
The sunlight and gold are beautiful. The building is awe-inspiring. Nice, Phil!
I have a question: With so many people in the place, is the sound of their voices and shoes distracting, or is the place quiet?

I rather enjoyed the sunshine yesterday, but now we're back to normal with a blustery, rainy Monday. Hey ho.
Speedway, it's the Vatican; it's a hubbub, bub.
Ms.M, we had a nice day yesterday but today we're going to share your weather.
Petrea, he was rather pleased with the way he caught the light.
I so want to visit...once the rebellion subsides, of course.
There will always be rebellion, Katherine.

And of course the best thing about February in Rome is the rugby. Yay!
