One of many photos I didn't get around to posting during Goodwood Week (you'll know when I'm too busy to blog when more Goodwood photos appear; they make good filler): this is Phil, going Girling.
Somewhat to our disappointment, having blagged and conned our way up on top of the pit building (many thanks to Nick for the loan of the Lotus Team armbands) we found the place was merely a champagne bar and that our Blues Brothers impersonations ("How much for the leetle girl? I want to buy your weemen.") would be to no avail. We read the menu board twice, but alas, no girls …
Sigh …

Too funny, and right down your alley... love the impersonations!
Bises,
Genie
Ah, if only they worked on real weemen …
...And the lone wolf is sent out by the pack, checking the territory for new girls (they'd seen the sign, after all), but returns Full of champagne, looking less like a wolf and more like the fox that'd eaten the grapes. Hic!
Actually, he looked more like the fox who'd been caught out in the rain, Speedway, but at least we had the compensation of some great racing.
Oh, I've been so busy I must play catch up.
Was that also the scene where the guys asked "Do you mind if we dance with your dates?"
And Phil looks spiffy in his suit, but it looks more like Ghostbusters to me.
So where did the weemen in the gorgeous outfits go to sip champagne? Maybe you and Phil should have gone there....
Ms. M gets to the point, doesn't she? These Girling gents know how to advertise but over here, false advertising is illegal.
I don't remember that line, Neetzy; it must have been from one of the awful spin-off movies.
And yes, Ghostbusters comes to mind, but I think we looked more like the marshmallow man.
Ms.M the pretty weemen had dozens of places to sip their champagne; each area themed for a different decade. The top of the pit building, however, is reserved for drivers and team members and is not a public area, so not so many up there.
False advertising is illegal in the States, Petrea? But what about your election campaigns?
You'd think so, but many politicians believe they're above the law. Either that or they mean well, but once they get into office the other party presents a roadblock. The former is the other guy, the latter is my side, of course.
Petrea, I'm a great believer in the theory that wanting to go into politics should automatically disbar you from eligibility.
But then my own politics sit somewhere to the left of Anarcho-Syndicalism so who the hell is ever going to listen to me?
With such a dapper pair as you and Phil, I'm sure if you were ever serious about "Girling" you'd both have one. You Crane bros. just have a hard time finding girls as smart as the two of ya's-who are also as pretty as the leggie lassies at the Goodwood. That's a tough combo. :)
Ah, if only, Shan.
Actually I'm secretly relieved. Were I to get dragged into any kind of physical relationship these days I'd probably put my back out or have a heart attack. Better to steer clear of scary weemen.
HA! I forget how you make me laugh. (Not really)
As the hair turns to shiny baldness and the six pack sags to a sackful of blancmange, humour is all I have left, Shan.
Well, that and a cute ass. Hee hee.
