A bit of a drama queen sunset out of my office window yesterday afternoon.
The heatwave is over and things are turning decidedly Autumnal.
The top photo is taken with the why dangle lens (which is why everything looks so tiny and far away) and the camera resting on top of my monitor.
That's the river down at the bottom and Pull's Ferry just behind that annoyingly located lamp post.
And yes, I had to lighten up the foreground in Photoshop as it was all in silhouette. Hence the graininess - I only had my little pocket camera with me.
This is more what it looks like through eyes instead of a lens. Actually, if you click on this one and blow it up it's about the same size as it looks from the office. I tell the time by glancing up at the City Hall clock tower … and yes, it's almost half-five; time to head on home.
Is it just me or do you do this, too? I'm very nearly fifty-three years old and I still get all excited watching clouds roll across the sky.

I like the graininess of these photos—they look like paintings, especially the top one.
It's easy to get caught watching clouds, especially on days like the ones you show. It's neat to watch them roiled by the wind as they travel across the sky.
Lovely pictures to take you into creative places.

As for the graininess, that just makes me wish I could be bothered to heft my big camera to work with me every day, but sadly, I'm a lazy git, so grainy is what you get.
I am 52 and love to watch the clouds rushing! These are great pics even with your little camera! It's amazing what you can do with one of those little things.
You're certainly not alone. I love watching storm clouds blow in! As well as other clouds. The clouds you've captured here are awesome. Definitely worth watching (and photographing).

Am I the only one who's got this cursed new Blogger photo thing that imitates the awful Facebook photo thing? When I click on a photo to enlarge it, Blogger goes into this dark background slide show, like Facebook, and the photos are actually made smaller.
ARGH!
I understand Blogger wanting to change things and make things better, but why would they want to change things to make them worse?
All I did was point and click, Neetzy, the sky did the rest.
Ms.M. I wish we had more varied clouds. Those mammatus clouds you posted earlier this week are awesome but we just don't get them down here in the lowlands.
Yes, Petrea, unfortunately all the other reasons come flooding back. Sigh …
And yes, we have been moaning at Blogger for weeks because of the stupid photo display thing. We spend ages making our pictures look good and ensuring they're large enough to be seen and then Blogger compresses them and ruins it all.
And on older systems, like mum's they don't work at all.
Once again I cry "A pox on Blogger!"
I figure it's the new editing interface. Last night I was mucking about and was able to select "return to old interface" or something like that, and I have my old pictures back.
I also got to send feedback. Tee hee.
