At Last! Phil's Goodwood Video!

Woohoo!

Right. Strap yourselves in and play this little video FUCKING LOUD! Preferably through a decent set of headphones.

You may or may not remember that this summer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, little brother Phil got to tear up the hill in a gloriously wonderful Lotus 2-Eleven racing car.

For the full story, click on this link before waching the video.

This is the very car.
You can buy one of these yourself if you fancy trying this at home.

And here it is just afterwards, back in the paddock, with Phil looking justifiably chuffed.
If you look on the rollbar you'll see the tiny little video camera that was used to film this.

Here are Phil and Nick returning to the paddock after their run.

And here is the run itself.
Watching the video you don't get much of an impression of the fantastic speed they're travelling at, nor of the sheer, pants-wetting terror of "The Wall" as it flashes by on the left about half-way up the course, but it's still as cool as fuck. A slightly bigger but compressed version is available here on YouTube if you fancy.

Enjoy!

It's pretty cool, isn't it?
I've got the big screen version and John next door keeps popping round to watch it over and over.
Crank the volume to the max through studio headphones and watch it full screen and it's SCARY! Hee hee.
Next time you are over here or at Phil's you can see for yourself.

Fan-bloody-tastic... forget the video, I want one of those cars!!!

You can actually buy and race them yourself, Rob. They are a fabulous track day car.
Though a Lotus 2-Eleven may not be the wisest choice for everyday commuting.

Fantastic! I loved that. Sexy or what? How exciting.

Oh and Alifan: spoken like a true Mum! I'd have been saying exactly the same, had it been my boys. lol

By the way one of the still pics had me worried - i thought he'd crashed it into a tree!

Hee hee, Lynn. He did park it pretty close to the tree, but the paddock is very crowded there so everything has to be crammed together.
As well you know, having lived only a few yards from this very tree!

Hee hee, Jules!
I'm amazed that your connection allowed you to download the video. Glad you could come along for the ride.

I have to say: All your smiling
on the Benauts'photos is a delight!

Lynn: You'll have to meet us one year at the Festival of Speed and show us roubnd your old haunts.

Anon: My fat, wobbly stomach on the Benaut's posts is prompting me to go on a diet!

I thought that was you standing in the middle of the track just before getting to the Start line hahaha.

Jealous. Wish I could do that, too!

Hee hee. That was "the bravest woman in the world" standing there, Joy.

And I wish I could do that, too.

Sorry I'm just now getting to this but that was a FANTABULOUS video Dive/Phil!! I, not being the brave sort was holding on to the sides of my chair asking him to please slow down and let me out before he kills himself. Ha ha.

I would not have let my brother or son do that if I knew about it ahead of time either but now that it's over....
AWESOME!!!!! :D

You may not have let THEM do it, Shan, but would YOU do it?
I know I would.
I am so jealous of him!
