That woman looks like she's in a precarious situation, because I keep imagining the horse coming alive. He seems to have his eye on her. (Too many sci-fi movies...)
I think the horse looks beautiful and brave. His coat looks rough,though. Did the artist wanted to emphasize his strength, so he works better with those spikey things along the edge of the building. Don't care about the woman - she's just in the way.
Ms.M. she was sitting on the plinth behind the horse, doing some paperwork on her cigarette break. I was slightly annoyed when I saw her and waited a bit for her to move so I could photograph the horse, but then I realised she gave some scale and contrast and decided to put her in the shot.
Strangely probable is a wonderful phrase, Savannah. It's strangely probable that I'm going to squeal when I see the new baby pic. xoxoxoxox
Speedway, the building is a monstrous monolith in the financial district and looks like a skyscraper designed for the Addams Family (which is kind of apt considering that finance is the new comedy horror genre). I'll post a photo of the outside another day. It was built over some old stables so there are three enormous and hugely pissed off horses in the lobby. Maybe I'll post those, too.
The angle is deceiving, Kate. She's behind the horse so she's in more danger of slipping on some poo.
Oh, I guess that's why all those spikey things look like pencils - they're for busily manipulating the books to write off the welfare of the people to their greed. And the horse IS pissed. I forgot to ask< why the strange shapes on the plaque?
The shapes are just the plan of the three buildings, Speedway. The City end of London is still based on the old, pre-Roman street plan which is why Americans can get lost for months trying to move from one street to the next. It's like a a packet of dried noodles; criss-crossing and interlaced winding streets on all sorts of different levels.

Both look lovely to me and those giant marble slabs are lovely too.
