:) It does look bleary from there. It had been snowing for the second day here - but it is friggin' cold and while I had thoughts about sticking my nose outside to see what the street parties look like. Decided that hearing the noise and seeing a bit on TV was quite satisfactory. My cats are quite special - not just pretty faces (that goes for their owner too! :)
I'm off work until the 3rd and for now that too is a source of joy.
Y'know, if you were here I would drag you out to see if they've cleaned up yet from the parties, maybe get some pastry along the way and take photos. But there is no sense in going out alone - nobody to complaint to about how bloody cold it is. :)
Happy New Year, Isadora! Enjoy staying in the warm with the cats. I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow and I must confess the thought of being in London again and getting back to normal is an attractive one.
There's something about a bare-limbed tree that is haunting, evocative, eerie, mystical .... Now dear Dive - what's happened to your imagination? Down here, all we see is green, green, green and a bit of pink and purple and mauve and white and pale blue and of course, yellows, reds, oranges. P'raps you'd better get your butt down to Oz. xxx Mme xxx
There's something about bare-limbed trees that says either: "Damn! It's cold!" or, "We've been napalmed!". I like leafy green trees, Mme. Though I could do without your 41 degrees Centigrade temperatures! Yikes!
Well Kate's river looked a hell of a lot different to your pic so I think I'm actually excited about this one. Plus I haven't had black-eyed peas shoved down my throat by the Americans so it has to be positive - I've had nothing but crap since they started doing that to me.
At least the trees say there's something to look forward to.

Make the most of the warmth, Joy; Norfolk's due some snow and bitter cold easterly winds later this week.
Welcome home to winter.
Brrrr …

We celebrated the day by going into Iowa and listening to speeches by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Liv fell asleep in the middle of both speeches. Guess she's an Edwards fan....
