It was even worse stepping out of the door at ten past five in the A.M. to have the breath sucked out of my body by invisible dæmons, lurking in the freezing Norfolk darkness (much like other freezing darkness but with a faint hint of duelling banjos and squealing pigs).
Fuck it was cold!
In search of autumn colour, when I reached London I swapped my usual walk along the Thames Embankment for a stroll through Green Park and St. James's Park.
It was still pretty green. The pelicans were happily pootling across the lake in front of the Parasite House.
As with Norwich yesterday, I found one tree …Just one smegging tree in the whole of St. James's Park with enough balls to give it some autumn.
In Green Park the planes were staying green, though somebody from the parks department had emptied some bags of dead leaves on the grass to make it look a bit more seasonal.
I know just what will happen: I'll wait a couple of weeks and the whole place will be a blaze of colour but it will be too dull and rainy to get a decent photograph.Hey, ho …

Gorgeous shots, Dive. Tis parky indeed. Five o'clock? Brr. I was still snuggled under the duvet at that time, covered up to the nose, cosy toes and all. Sorry.
No need to apologise, Lynn; I'm a duvet hog myself whenever I get the opportunity.
Tomorrow is Saturday so I get to lie-in until six. Woohoo!
wow, that last shot especially is beautiful. Very nice, and just enough hint of autumn to make you put on the warm socks and drink a cup of tea.
No wonder I'm cold, Scout; I'm still in short socks and shirtsleeves.
A cup of green tea is a nice idea though.
Why only 6 on a Sat, Dive? Is it your choice to get up so early at the weekend?
I bet it's because you're washing your kit to watch the rugby later tomorrow! I'll be watching at the pub!
If I lie in later than six I get a headache all weekend, Lynn.
And I can't have that; not with all the shouting and I'll be doing at the rugby.
Maybe he'll be washing his KAT Lynn! LOL! ;)
Gorgeous snaps DB!!!
How are all my pink taxi's "faring?"
HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!
XOXO
They're still here and gayer than ever, Ame.
How the hell do you ever get to work every day? I would be stumbling around with my mouth open and forgetting all about those pesky clients....
I can only recommend Warsaw or even better NYC, especially Central Park - if you wish to take the best autumny trees!

Maria: I sleep on the train, then I have a lovely (albeit miles long) walk along the Thames or through the parks, which leaves me refreshed and happy and de-stressed when I reach the office.
Central Park! Joy, I am so jealous of your globetrotting. I think commuting from Brundall to Westminster every day is enough travelling for me.
lovely...and you know i'm so totally jealous, sugar!
Wow..What a great shot of the sunlight coming through the lamp!
