Deep in the nether recesses of the overgrown mess I like to call my nature garden (all that means is that I've let nature reclaim it), a Japanese Elm decides it cannot wait any longer and declares Autumn.Okay, so it's a half-hearted kind of honey/caramel autumn; not the riot of flame-coloured leaves the Yanks have been posting.
But it's a start.
And it's mine.
Right. Perhaps we can have some proper colour now. Bring it on.

It seems leaves are in fashion the world over at the moment. It finally rained so I have my drippy leaf shots. Unfortunately they are green ones and it will be a long time before I see the turning of the colours again. It almost makes me wish for winter.

I keep looking for a coconut tree in Autumn colours but can't find one. It's making me very depressed!!!!

Scout and Lynn: Thank you, ladies; the pretty colours are the only compensation we get for the crappy weather and gloom and doom of approaching winter, so let's make the most of them.

I love the way you English spell the word "colour." Liv does too, prefers it and when her teacher corrected her essay and told her to change it, she refused. She told her teacher it was "the king's english" and her teacher was impressed enough to let her go on it.....

We speak and write English here in England.
Over in the US you have the simplified writing system old Noah Webster came up with to make it easier for immigrants from all over to learn basic English.

Oh, and my views on Microsoft, who use the stunted and simplified US "English" as a default and label it "English", while English is labelled "International English".
