It's Monday morning so it must be "over-running engineering works."
Mister Grumpytrousers leaves home at ten past five this morning in the pitch fucking dark, chipping ice off my car windscreen; drives to the station, gets on the stupid train and sits in the dark in the middle of fucking nowhere for hours.
With no heating.
I've just arrived at the office.
Four hours, fifty minutes to get to work this morning.
And as it's Monday, we'll probably have a fucking jumper this evening and have to sit for another couple of hours while the police hose and scrape the inconsiderate twat off the bottom of the train.
So, no time to write a Monday Melee this morning.
Instead you get a couple more shots taken this morning on the way in to work.
But at long last, some of the trees are beginning to take a hint that it's almost November and they should really be taking their kit off.

It is always a delight reading your posts (and comments on my blog)! :D
I hate going down to London, and worse, using the tubes. People are so rude. Recently, this woman pushed me hard so she can jump on the Central Line, which wasn't budging anyway and so the doors stayed open for minutes and I was there stood giving her the evil eye and almost spat, "Bitch!" Actually, I think I did tell her.
I don't know how people do it - commute from Norwich to London to earn their living. Not my cup of tea. So how do you do it?
At the Bear Shop, I've only ever encountered the nice man, who always donates a teddy for our Festival of Cultures at Norwich Mind. And I adore the bears!
Did you ever have your own teddy as a child? :D

Your Love Coach
I seem to remember a moth-eaten and threadbare cuddly panda when I was a kid. I'll see if I can dig up a photo.
As for commuting, Joy, check my link:"The Joys Of Commuting" for some survival hints.
Basically, you need the patience of Job, the ability to sleep through anything, a facial expression and body language that screams "PSYCHOPATH" and a "NO!" that means NO!
Armed with those, and a pair of really loud alarm clocks well out of reach of the bed, it is actually no worse than burning in a pit of hellfire for all eternity with dæmons poking sharp sticks up your bottom.
Except on Mondays, when it IS worse.
Well, at least you got a few good shots as souvenirs this morning. Is that a ball floating in the Thames?
It's a mooring bouy for the barges, Robyn.
There were a couple of barges a little further up-river near Westminster Bridge. They had lots of cormorants on them, drying their outspread wings, but I didn't have my telephoto lens with me so they came out way too small to post.
Its nearly november, get your kit off.
You should be in advertising.
How was the kangaroo?
well done, sugar...i think i would have been in a blue funk and walked past everything!
The roo stayed in the freezer, Kate; we spent the weekend setting up Phil's new Mac and swearing at British Telecom down the phone line.
Oh, and losing the rugby world cup final.
Savannah: the walk along the river and through the parks is the thing that keeps me sane.
It's cold there? It's going to be about 80 (Farenheit) today.
And no one in this town has grumpy trousers. We did it!!!!!
Robyn told me, Sassy.
Well done, Sox.
It's a nice warm, sunny day now but at five this morning I was indeed scraping stupid ice off my windscreen.
And my trousers are much less grumpy now I've indulged in coffee and croissant therapy.
Yes, the Red Sox did it, so no one in Boston in grumpy today. Cleveland, on the other hand, is under a cloud--80 degrees and sunny, but a cloud non the less.
At least you had time to take those pics.
Rich: If had no soul I would take the tube, but after several hours stuck on a train a nice walk is wonderfully de-stressing.
And walking along the Thames, then cutting through Parliament Square to St.James's Park only takes about ten minutes longer than being jammed into an overcrowded and stinking tin can with a few thousand sweaty, coughing, virus-drenched troglodytes.
If I didn't have my morning constitutional I would probably go apeshit with a bag of handguns.
he he parasite shot. Even i found that funny.
I don't think I could ever ride the train again after a "jumper" honestly; my feet could never touch the floor. ICK that and I would cry every time thinking about how bad things must have been for whomever to have done that to themselves and how their poor family must feel.
Lynn: Thank you for not being upset at me.
Prudence: I'm afraid it happens every week so over the decades your sympathy leaks away.
Except for a young girl who killed herself at Manningtree a few weeks back; her Mother couldn't cope with the loss so she threw herself under the same train a couple of weeks later. The flowers are still there beside the track.
I rather like the image of Mr. Grumpy trousers shuffling out of a nice warm house in the dark and scraping ice, probably muttering.
And the train...I always picture you sitting by men with Star Trek logos now or little old ladies with shopping bags...
No heat would suck, though. That ruins the nice image of you in soft train lighting taking photos out of the window....
And walking along...puttering on the way to work.
Nope, can't see a grumpy trouser man in sight.....
I hate to rub it in Mr Grumpy Dacks but if I told you how I got to work this morning - no smart arse it wasn't by outrigger canoe but i do have one parked next to my car and I could if I wanted to, as the school is just down the big river to the left- no i can't - it will just get you more snotty than you already are!!!!
Oh how I would love to be in London - well for a few weeks!
Bad luck re the rugby - hee hee!!!!
Four hours, fifty minutes to get to work. That's amazing!
I can get to New Zealand from here in three if the plane's on time! I admire your dedication to yer work.
Nice to see the leaves finally changing colour. It has also been nice to go through spring in Melb without hearing orgasmic screams of delight over a simple cherry blossom.
Ah, but it's autumn in Tokyo so they'll all be squealing at the maple leaves right about now, GG.
