They're Heeeeeere …

At long last, spring has sprung along Cherry Walk and gaudy petticoat pinkness abounds.

Do click on these to enlarge them. I mean: how gorgeous is that?

Look one way and St.Peter Mancroft is frilled with pink blossom …

Look t'other way and it's City Hall getting mugged by Barbara Cartland.

Pink … PINK! AUGH! The whole world has gone pink …

… with blue around the edges.

Er … I hope you like pink; if not, this post is really going to suck.

Somebody who does like pink is our Lynn, who first visited Cherry Walk a couple of years back and who is long overdue for another overdose of the pink frillies. If she hurries, she might get an eyeful of our next eagerly anticipated blossomfest: the wisteria at St.Giles (see many a past year's posts).

Gorgeous series of photos! Especially when they are enlarged, showing the details. Love the criss-cross of the branches in the last photo.

Pink and blue -- colors for new birth, new blooms of spring. Happy Spring to you, Dive!

Happy Spring to you too, Ms.M. It's been an awfully long time coming but it's very welcome nonetheless.

Mum, I'll see of I can do us all a day out in Southwold.

Gorgeous! I'm looking out my window at a riot of green leaves in every possible shade and shape. Blossoms would be lovely. I'm jealous, sugarpie! xoxoxoxo

I'll happily swap our blossom for your temperature, Savannah; it's still frosty here.

Alifan, I was thinking exactly the same, only today! I do hope so.

Dive, This series is truly beautiful. I just adore these pics. Pink, pinky pink pink. Pretty! Thank you for reminding me of seeing those before, when you showed me around that lovely area of Norwich. I wonder if they'll still be there when I arrive? Can they wait for me?

Your long winter has helped nurture the buds that gave you all these beautiful flowers! I especially like the one taken under the tree. It's a pink shelter of tiny petals with sunlight peeping through - a sort of stained glass window on its own.

Looks like they survived! Hallelujah! What's not to like about pink?

Alifan, I love your new pic.

Looking forward to meeting you Lynne…

Petrea thank you, of course Dive managed to not show too many wrinkles when he took it for me…

Lynn, they'll be gone already, but much more is to come in the way of blossom around the city.
xx

That's a great analogy, Speedway, especially as they're right next to the church. Walking under them is a bit like overdosing on pink but delightful anyway.

Pink looks great on cherry trees but not quite so fetching on me, Petrea.

When I was over at Mum's on Saturday she asked me to take a new pic of her for the blog. Sheesh! Supermodels should be so fussy. Hee hee.

Mum, you'll never get to meet Lynn if you put an 'e' at the end of her name.

according to my friend Sheryl whose a Barbi stylist at Mattel, girls are genetically coded to love purple and pink.

I read an article in the Huntington Magazine about Pinky and Blue Boy, and how styles have changed over the years. Pink was once the color for boys (I want to say 19th century but I'm not sure). And there was a time when all small children wore white, if they came from stylish families.

Thank you, PA. You've just made me aware of what's missing from my life. I so need my own stylist. I'm more of a Malibu Stacey man, but a few of Ken's outfits might not go amiss. They'd probably fit, too, as I'm about as well endowed as he is … er.

Petrea, when we were little we wore whatever Mum made for us. It was usually matching and that traumatised Phil so badly that a couple of years back we happened to turn up at a coffee shop wearing the same rugby shirt and he wouldn't go in until one of us had run down the road and bought a new top (we tossed for it and it was me).
