We enjoyed way too many coffees, a great catch-up session and some shopping and then a very therapeutic ranty moan in the Apple Store (one of my favourite Saturday pastimes) about Apple's dumbing down and lack of support for professional users with each new and increasingly mobile-oriented OS and the fact that Pea has to sell her apps exclusively through Apple's Apps Store and they charge her THIRTY FUCKING PERCENT on every sale!
Apple are turning into Microsoft and I do enjoy venting my righteous spleen at their long-suffering staff members whenever I am in there. They are so nice and they always nod and agree with me. The fact that I spend all my money in there no doubt makes them more tolerant.
Anyhoo … thanks for a fab fun morning, Pea. Give my love to the family, and mum says she loves your hair like that.

Absolutely, Petrea. The staff at the Norwich Apple store agree (or at least politely pretend to agree) that Apple have dumbed down to pander to the increased mobile market and now need to bring out two separate operating systems: an OS for professional users in addition to their current joke of an OS which caters for people who walk into things while playing Angry Birds. They've gone after the money and badly let down their traditional core users. Shame on them.

Pea is a ninja knitter, Vanda. She's hot stuff with a spinning wheel, too … and a stunning musician … and a software developer with her own evil empire. She also made all of the stained glass stuff in my house.

Good to see Peahen. And I love the hair as well (just for the record.) I was wondering what you were doing the whole time you sat there while she knitted away. Were you in charge of the snacking and drinking? :) There's nothing like catching up with friends. It is so...comforting. Ahh.
I can only multi-task while on the phone because I hate being chained to it, so I do other fun things like unload the dishwasher and junk at the same time. ;)
In person though I can't really do more than sit and talk as I get super distracted taking in every detail about the person(s) I'm talking to. It's kinda weird. Human studies.
Hey, Shan! great to see you over here. You are indeed kinda weird and wonderful. I wish I could multitask as well as you … if I try to do anything else when I'm talking on the phone the darned thing just falls off the wall. Perhaps I need to get a phone that's less than fifty years old.
