Inevitably this led to hours of rummaging through old albums and I came across this one of him sitting on a fence by the side of the road just outside Mdina in Malta.
I'll post the proper post tomorrow but this morning I decided it was time to rescue this photo from the ravages of time.

After … feeling much better.If anyone doesn't have a copy of Photoshop (even the cut-down version) out there, go buy it now.
From putting the photo in the scanner to saving the finished thing for the blog took a little under twenty minutes.
And it was tremendous fun, too.
Put it on your shopping list.

What fun it is to look back. I love the photo of your "young" Dad and how you fixed up the photo. Just amazing. The task now is to photoshop ALL of your old photos. Something for a rainy Sunday. xx

Monsieur: regretfully I left Malta too young to remember much about it and have yet to return.
Mme: I think that's a job for my retirement! Too huge a task to contemplate at the moment.

Yes, that photoshop is a handy tool! I've never gotten around to using it yet because J is the in-house wiz in that field. So if I need anything whipped up I just send it to the big computer upstairs. That sounded like I let God handle my graphics didn't it?
All I'm able to do so far is smooth out a wrinkle or erase the occasional blemish. Maybe I should try to advance myself in this area. Glad you are seeing the sun a little more today!
Rich: This one was just the Clone tool and the Heal tool and a tweak of the contrast. Easy peasy.
A lot of people are a little daunted by Photoshop, but don't be. Learn through play is the best way.
Remember, unlike in real life, in Photoshop there is an UNDO.
Shan: I did indeed love dad very much. He was cool and fun.
I love the idea of God handling your graphics. Hee hee. If He handles the rest of Creation, I'm sure Photoshop's no problem for Him.
