Where Am I?

Time for another "Where Am I?" post. This one has lots of clues in the photo, but "London" or "Westminster" or even "Parliament Square" won't do (yes, that's Nelson Mandela's statue, and yes, it says "Parliament Square" on the signpost). I'm in a particular room in a particular building and your challenge today is to tell me precisely where.
More on the building coming up later in the week.

I think it is…whoops as I have inside information will not tell!

Oh, I dunno. Maybe Westminster for a company project? Just guessing.

Ah, that would be Middlesex Guildhall.

Thanks for keeping mum, Mum.

Not close enough, Speedway.

Not any more, Robyn; it ceased to be that quite a few years ago (Google's Map thingie is about as accurate as Wiki).

You're turning me into a stalker, Dive. I tried, but couldn't find a map that told me the name of the building behind Mandela's statue. Supreme court building - or was that Robyn's guess?

I knew I could rely on the Queen of Research™ to provide the answer. Yes, Speedway, it is indeed the Supreme Court and I was enjoying lunch in The Lawyers' Lounge above the entrance.
More from the rather glorious building later in the week (including me disrupting proceedings in Court no.1).

Hah! Found its picture! With a bunch of ladies above portraying differnet rols, then just above them kings, bishops and one that looks like death in a hoodie?

Speedway said...

You? "disrupting the proceedings? Naw! Never happened.

dive said...

Hee hee. I'll tell you about it later.
If you look to the right of Death in a Hoodie, you'll see Cardinal Fang from Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition.
The rest of you will have to wait until I post photos.

Dang! I hate it when fat-fingered syndrome and dyslexia kick in at the same time. I meant "ladies above portraying different roles, then just below them kings, bishops ..."

"Rols" is a better word. Anyhoo, if I were pedantic I'd insist on "rôles" but I could never be accused of being pedantic … er.

Speedway said...

What's "pedantic"? Was that what kicked in in Court no.!?

dive said...

What's pedantic? Probably two out of three posts on this blog over the past six years.

Speedway said...

Well, that makes for blog buddy hell, doesn't it? A pedantic stalked, so to speak, by a dyslexic, fat-fingered, auto racing loving, tone deaf non-duster photographer/artist/writer who never uses a 9-letter word when a 4-letter word will do. Hah!

dive said...

Or even a three-letter one (hah) hee hee.

Speedway said...

Doh.

dive said...

Ha!

Aitch?
