Cool! Those damn sky cranes fascinate me. I imagine them as some sort of car jack on steroids; build a shaft, put the crane on it, build the first few floors, add another bit of shaft, and so on. PFG.
And the windows- do the coatings come in different colors and SPF values so people inside don't feel paniced by the the heights just on the other side of the glass?
I have no idea how the people inside the Gherkin feel, Speedway; though as it's the home of an insurance company I hope they're all scared of heights and live their working days in fear and panic … it's only fair.
Me too, Ms.M. I was a little concerned about the stresses on the glass distorting it like that, but I did like the pretty pattern it made.
