I think it's because we've had rain all year and now a couple of sunny days in October makes the flowers think it's spring at last. Flowers are almost as dumb as people.
In middle Ohio (I won't talk about how dumb we are here), the leaves are changing into beautiful colors, and I have this lovely bright pink flower growing in my back yard. I think a bird planted the seed, if you know what I mean, because I have no idea what it is.
It's the same over here: the trees in St.James's Park were starting to turn yesterday, yet the flower beds are still full. Mother Nature's on the fritz.
Those ships are queueing up in the Lowestoft Roads, Speedway: the deep water channel between two big sandbanks where ships … er … queue up, waiting for a berth in port. We're a couple of hundred miles north of the Channel here. If you swim straight across you'll bump into Denmark; if you veer left you'll hit Norway and if you veer very left, there's no land between here and the North Pole (hence our gloriously insane winter sea storms).
As for my eye for beauty … I was on my knees on a footpath, getting in the way of some dogwalkers, whose lovely, friendly, shaggy labrador smeared its wet nose over my face and glasses while I tried to focus (hence the crap focusing).
That's why I never leave the house without some lens-cleaning kit hidden about my person. I attract dogs and cats in the same way I repel women. It's an unwanted gift.
No. That was in the winter; don't you remember all the ice on Blythburgh water? Sparkly seas are difficult to get right; I had to take several to get that one.
Come on over, Ms.M. It's a nice beach to walk. There's a little harbour off to the right where you can buy fish as they land it and eat it it in a small restaurant in a fisherman's shack.

Oh, lovely. Is that the last of the summer flowers or the first of the fall?

Oh Dive, I SO love orange! And against the backdrop of blue (complimentary colors, yes?) I am right there. Thanks for the pic.
My pleasure, Katherine.
That is so beautiful, Dive. I can almost hear and smell the ocean as the flowers tremble in the breeze.
That's quite a trick for someone who lives so far from the coast, Speedway.
Maybe you're just that damn good a photographer, Dive. Your eye for beauty made me feel all that from so far away.
I even see big tankers on the horizon. Are those a part of the traffic jam I'd have to work around should I act on my dream to swim the Channel?

Ahhh, eye for beauty got smeared by doggie kisses.

Was this on the day we went on our long long walk at Southwold?
Glad you liked my pics, the sparkly sea in the pic above is lovely I took one but it is not as good as yours.

This is simply lovely! Now I want to walk along the beach....
