This one's for Peahen.
Picture the scene:
Paul and Steve and Jason and Old Dive are about to start the second set down at the blues club.
Just before we go on stage, Pea says to Paul:
"Do that one … you know … Evil Honey Bee".
Paul cracks up.
From that moment on, this song has always been known as "Evil Honey Bee" in honour of Pea.
For anyone who cares, I was playing Old Les and Paul had his G&L tele on the go. My slide is a 1968 Avon lipstick tube that I nicked off mum when I was little and still use today.

LOL You could use this pic as an audition for radio then? Nothing wrong with your face, Dive.
LOVE the slide idea! You could start a trend. My ex boyfriend used to use Grolsh (?) bands from the tops of beer bottles for something or other on his guitars. What is it about you musicians which make you improvise so successfully?! By the way that lipstick top might go a bomb on Ebay now! 1968 huh? wow.
Woo Hoo and Dippidy Doo. I LOVE this one. That's some damn fine string pickin' there, boy.
I love Thursdays especially when I get a giggle out of the text too. Headless photo: hee, hee. Does tend to make one focus on the guitar, etc. etc. :)
I have koalas for you on MBOB ...
Michael is the only guitar player I know who has actually paid money in a guitar shop for a proper slide, Lynn.
Ry Cooder uses old Vicodin bottles (he has to scour junks hops) and I don't know what I'd do if I lost the lipstick tube; nobody does them in chromed brass any more.
Mme: Thank you so much. And never mind the etc. Hee hee. I'll come over and see your cute koalas!
Nice shirt.
The slide works perfectly. They're all made of plastic now or cheap tin, so hang on to this one. I'll have to listen to this song again because it's just so fun.
The shirt was a World Wildlife Fund one, Robyn. Under the little leopard it say (in kids' writing) "Leopards are spotty".
I hate dressing up for stage work so I usually wear something stupid.
I had to close the kitchen curtains so I could groove to this great tune, since I'm only half dressed for work. This is definitely the kind of music that gets me going! Great guitar! I like your shirt even more now that I know what it says!
Hee hee, Katie. That's the sort of information that can make a man all "unnecessary".
I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
I love "racket" postings! A five-minute injection of fun into my work-day. I'm alone in the office, so I could crank it!
Thanks for this Dive - wonderful memories of Sunday nights. Why the fade? It's like watching your train leave the station without you!
Paul Tinks. A sexy man in an Auk kind of way! A superb voice. You two were a rare combination. Have you posted 'that' recording of Cold Cold Feeling? Or are you saving that one for when you REALLY need to knock everyone sideways?
Cheers, Kate. Cranking it is good!
Pea! Yay! Yes, we had so many good times there.
The fade was because Steve (as ever) forgot to put a new tape in at the start of the set and it ran out halfway through the song.
Hee hee! Paul: A sexy man in an auk kind of way! That is so brilliant!
He's great. A pocketful of dynamite. An Oompah-Loompah with sex appeal.
If you click back on the Let's Make A Racket link you'll find Cold, Cold feeling was Racket number 2.
Racket number 11 has links to all of the first ten so you can play it from there.
Good old Paul. Shouting "Give it some sex!" at me.
Good times, Pea.
Very nice Dive! And I love a silly shirt. That is funny about the lipstick slider. I'm trying to remember what J uses. I know it is not an official one either though. Bahha.
Sorry I'm lacking on my comments. I wrote a novella sized blog today instead of checking on my peeps. Otherwise I've been busy with extra kiddies everywhere. Great castle photos down below. I would love to see some real ones someday when I become a traveler. :)
old school, sugarpie! coooool! thanks! xoxoxo
Oh, how I needed this racket tonight. One of those days where I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin...and then there was this music and I could actually get up and MOVE.
Yay, Shan! A noval-length post all about tennis and poo! Excellent!
I fully concur with Jamey's comment. Hee hee.
Savannah: In my case: VERY old school!
xoxox.
Prudence: My crotch thanks you.
Maria: I'm so glad that my music can move someone … though you didn't say where; it was probably straight to the bathroom. Hee hee.
I do so love those old junks hops don't you Dive?
Hee hee. The Phantom Proofreader strikes again!
Well spotted, Lynn.
Mea Culpa.
