Festive Danglies

A huge hoorah to our lovely Peahen for her utterly splendid Christmas decorations.
Go take a look.
How fucking cool is that?

As I can't compete with Pea, I'll let nature have a go instead.
These were some of the festive danglies on the plane trees in Green Park this morning.

Nature's own baubles.

Pretty, huh?

Wow i do so love danglies!!

These are particularly nice ones dive - they don't look real - is there a ladder and a box of glass Christmas balls out of view of the camera????

Weird. Are they seeds?

They are indeed the very dangly seed pods of the London Plane (platanus x. hispanica).

Luckily, they stay on the trees for a long time, keeping the trees looking pretty and stopping the danglies falling on my head.

Dive, why do you know EVERYthing?

Simple yet effective backlit image!

Thank you, Joy. Walking past these every day saves me having to decorate a tree at home.

Lynn: Somebody has to. Hee hee.

Roentarre: Thank you so much. Unlike you I am not a photographer; I was just lucky to spot these as I passed.
Your Japanese photos are amazing!

The first thing I thought of was oooh looky, they're Ben Wa balls hanging from a tree.

Analyse away.

Thankfully, you defy analysis, Vic.

And these balls are fluffy!
Which might be nice …

Thanks for the mention, Dive, I'm chuffed to bits that I made you say 'fucking cool'. Kudos. Now Vic's given me an even better idea for next year. (Or maybe you want to do that one yourself, Vic?)

Oh hee hee hee. You have GOT to post a photo of THAT tree!

If one must have danglies, they damn better well be festive.
