What's Cooking With Dive? - Nothing

I've not done a cookery post for a while and I'm not about to start again just yet, so here's a non-cookery post featuring my regular Saturday lunchtime treat.

Ingredients:

One decent chunk of AAA-sashimi-grade tuna;
Some wasabi paste;
Some soy sauce (low salt for me);
Chopsticks;
A plate to stop your table getting messy;
Something to read;
BBC Radio 3.

Non-cooking method:

(1) Slice the tuna as thinly as you want it.
(2) Assemble all the ingredients.
(3) Enjoy!

Savannah, aren't you supposed to be showering a baby or something? You can't go swanning off to Japanese restaurants!
(I'm only jealous … have a FAB time out there).

That looks SO good to me!

I'm getty ready to have dinner with the Indigenous Artist this evening. During his sojourn on IMA's Indy Island, he is hosting "dinner and a Movie evenings. Price of admission is an entree, side dish or dessert. Guess what I'm taking - Your rice dish with peas and a few shrimp thrown in. Of course, it's not Dive's top of the line ingredients, just the same stuff, only "what Sara can afford."

Woohoo! Dinner, a movie and an Old Dive recipe. Well, two out of three's not bad, Speedway. Have a great fun time!

Oh, and the tuna is always goooood. In the winter I'll add a small bowl of steamed sushi rice (seasoned with mirin) and a bowl of fresh miso soup, but in the summer this is all anyone needs.

Oh, and what a fun website. I especially like the interactive map.

Dive, I believe I've mentioned my limited palate. But I do like the plate idea, I'm going to give that a try.

News from the colonies - "What's Cooking with Dive" made a successful incursion onto Indy Island, as well as another dish I made because it's been so hot. It's one for you to try.

Peel and slice an equal number of navel oranges and cucumbers. This time I did 3 oranges and cukes. Put in a large bowl, toss with chopped mint leaves - whatever amount looks pretty. Cover and chill to allow flavors to blend. Eat. Yum!

Petrea, Ryoko would love this (plate or no plate).

Yay for success with an Old Dive recipe, Speedway! I am honoured.
And I am also going to make your orange and cucumber salad today. I have oranges and cucumber (and rampant mint in my garden) and am slapping my forehead with "DUH" that I'd not thought of combining them before. Yummy and refreshing!

Your dinner, and the salads in the comments, sound perfect! It's over 100 F here today, so cool food is the rule....

A hundred degrees? YIKES!
Stay cool, Ms.M.

Hi Dive!
HA! Petrea and I are clearly related because I was thinking the same thing! This is my kind of cooking only replace the tuna with lunchmeat and the wasabi stuff with hummus. Oh and a plate is a great idea. ;D

Hahahahahaha!
Ah, Shan … I LOVE your style of cooking, as you well know.
