Unsaintly

I don't know if this will mean the same thing in the Colonies as it does to an Englishman who still retains his schoolboy potty-humour but it made me laugh.

Snigger. Tis quite funny. I photographed a road sign a while ago which I couldn't quite believe: Minge Lane.

Woah! You have GOT to post that one, Lynn, especially after our rude place names posts.

Can't (blush) ... just..can't. lol.

Aww shucks.

I took the photo for that purpose of course, but...chickened out.

You didn't! Did you? Up to what age?

Back at the office, slaving away. But it's been productive so far :D

The sign looks completely innocent to me. Well. Amazing amount of brick here, what exactly is this place?

dive said...

Kind of icky, though, Savannah!
xoxoxo

Joy: potty-humour, not potty! Hee hee.

Katie, the brick is the back of the pub garden of the Brown Derby pub next to St.Gregory's church on Pottergate in Norwich.

"Back alley" kind of equates to your Colonial "Hershey highway", that most fundamental of fundaments; it;s nice to know Saints had them, too.

I notice that the apostrophe is not there in Gregorys.

Me, too, Lupine Lady. That is so annoying to a pedant such as myself. I may sneak in there one night with a can of black paint and rectify matters.
Hey, I'm going to get in trouble with Katie now (hee hee); she passed your trees letter on to me earlier today and I replied so you'll have to hassle her to forward it to you.

No problem without solution
Please let's come back to your famous post"Celebrity....":
To fulfill this nice Joy and your"niece"Althaea, I suggest
you do what people often do to protect their outdoor entrance:
They put a plastic bottle of water
on the street. It's to stop dogs peeing against doorways. The reflection put them off.
Maybe.... for your carpet???!!!AhAh!

Aie,no no ...don't hit me.

(How do I make tongue-in-cheek?)

Well now I need to know what "minge" means. As a colonial, I do understand the rest.

Poor you, snow stuck! Would that I could. It's going to be 44 here today. And, I'm posting again :)

I have no idea what "minge" means but I sure feel scandalous saying it now. keekeekee

I think we would say back door but I don't think it would be quite as potty-ish in reference. Being the only girl in the house I already get a whole lot of that sort of humor(without the u of course ;)

Boys will be boys. Bad boys. Bad boys.

I'm glad St. Gregory had a back alley. It would be problematic without one. I'm not sure why he needs a sign to find it.

Anonymous: That's a good tip! Though I think I'll still keep my home a dog-free zone. Just about everything in it is breakable.

Joy: You … er … put your tongue in your cheek. Hee hee.

Mme: You SO do not need to know what minge means!
But as this is Dive's blog I'll let him tell you that it is yet another euphemism (as if we needed more) for a lady's fluffy front-bottom.

Welcome back to Blogville, by the way. Kisses and hugs from everybody are in order.
xox

Shan: You really don't want to be going around saying "minge"!
Schoolboy humour (with or without the "u" … hee hee) is what prevents men growing up and we love it.

Neetzy: Those old saints were supposed to perform miracles but doing without a back alley would have been a doozy!

Well, I'll be minged.

I am feeling a bit down and minge today.

Oh, minge.

Somehow, I feel certain that I could get away with that word in America.

And even "back alley" wouldn't raise any eyebrows.
