I've taken so many shots of the London Eye over the years.
These are a couple of my favourites. It's fun to just wander along from my office to Westminster Bridge after dark, prop the camera on a railing and hit the "natural light exposure" button.
Cheers, Savannah. You'll have to come over for a ride on it one of these days. xoxox
Oh, crap, Lynn! Not on top of everything else. Your poor mum will be coming over to nurse you instead of the other way round. Sigh … Well, get the boys into action. We want fresh bedlinen, a hot water bottle (regualrly topped up), the bedroom window open (it's a lovely, almost spring-like day here) to get some fresh air and lots of mum-pampering with hot lemon drinks (fresh lemons, not that powdered cack), with honey and a drop of brandy, today's Guardian and Radio 3. then they can go out and get you some medicinal chocolates. Get well soon!
I love the photos. Date and I just watched the episode of Dr. Who where the eye was the epicenter of an attempt to take over the world via zombie manequins.
Pretty. We won't get many London-at-night shots from you, Dive. Someday I am determined to actually ride the Eye and not just walk by it and talk about how interesting it looks.
Well that's what MINE does, Istvanski; give yours a twiddle and see what it comes up with … er.
Robyn: the Eye is well worth a spin in any weather (except maybe fog … that would suck). Next time you're over here let me know and we can go for a ride. Yay!
OOooh my gosh, Dive, that was a pleasure reading through all that! Wow. Sheer bliss. This afternoon I did go to bed actually and the window was open, I have had the hot lemon and nearly all night my beloved son brought me cold flannels and cold drinks. I was burning up and it was difficult to get the temperature down. Admittedly he was awake anyway playing a game online but boy, was I touched - he was so caring. My other sons would have done I am sure, but they're away at uni! Now: I'm just going to read all through that again, sigh deeply and pop off to bed. Mum improving a bit now but am I soooooooo glad I didn't go to see her last week as I planned. I'd have been carrying this and she'd (and my father) would have got it. Phew. Lucky escape.
Excuse the grammar gaff. I'm excused. LOL. mmmmmm I'm still thinking fresh bed linen......sigh.......I can't be arsed to change it tonight but tomorrow and I'm sure my son and his lovely girl will help. Oh yes I forgot she offered to get shopping (in the end my son got it) but she's been really sweet too. She's at a party tonight and I'm wondering if I'm up to getting some fashion shots of her when she comes home. I should go to bed...what do you think? She never minds modelling, unlike sons....boys huh! :)
Nice photos Dive. You have some serious talent when you point that magical lens.
ps Dive, I am preparing my signature dish tonight,Grill Smoked Mongolian Pork Chops ala Mark. I would like to share the recipe with you but I cant find an email addy for you. Do you have a Hotmail address? I want you to serve this entree to a lusty and busty lass who enjoys fine food and romance. These chops have been known to maka a lass remove her knickers just at the sight of them. Add a side of celeriac mashers and some sauted red cabbage with a spash of great olive oil and you have an oral delight. Dont forget a nice red wine.
I was in London for 11 blissful days in 1999. The Eye was not. Seems like it's been longer than that, but the Eye is fewer than ten years old! I must come visit it.
I'll bring Lynn a hot toddy and fresh linens when I come.
Get well soon, Lynn! I'm glad you have one attendant still at home. Be sure to milk all the attention to the last drop. Hee hee.
Mark: Post the recipe here, then we can ALL enjoy it! It does sound delicious and exceedingly seductive! I have a stalker so the email stays off the blog, I'm afraid.
Petrea, you really must come over again and have a ride on the Eye. It's a lot more fun than it looks.
It looks fun enough, Dive. I saw photos you took from on high (posted last fall or winter). I think they were yours...maybe Lynn's? Anyway, I'll go. I don't think I can get my husband to go up there.
We'll drag him up there, then. We're both dying for a trip to London and it's the first thing we're going to do as soon as a dollar's worth as much as a pound.

Love them. Brightened my day. I'm full of flu Dive, hot, weary and grumpy. Really ill and can take sympathy in shed loads.......;)
Cheers, Savannah. You'll have to come over for a ride on it one of these days.

Er … Wha?
Sassy, thanks for giving me yet another reason for being glad I don't watch TV.
Sheesh!
So that's what the "natural light exposure" button does!
Well taken, they exude bags of atmosphere.

Yay!
I like the clouds in the second on too!
Very nice Dive!
I like all that symmetry in one place.
Cheers, Shazza!
Me too, Maria.

Hee hee, Petrea! There is really no sense of height so it's not scary for folk with vertigo.
And the views are amazing!

The pound truly sucks at the moment. All the things I was intending to do when we were at two dollars to the pound are now gone for ever.
Hey ho.
Petrea that would be fab and no they weren't my pics. I'm the scaredy one waiting down below on the ground with your husband. :)
