Why should anyone need a reason?
Hokay … so the reason is that this came on iTunes random play when I was feeling particularly crappy and for six minutes and forty-three seconds everything was alright.
So if it did that for me I hope it can do it for you, too.

Well, this is good soundtrack music for my day Dive. It starts peaceful and calm and then has that dramatic bit toward the middle. Sounds about right. I'm going to a meeting this afternoon where the school is planning to refer my six year old out to a special day treatment facility in a neighboring town. It should be dramatic. There will be tears (for sure from the staff but I'm going to try stoic because last time I got misty.)
And then there will be a little choppiness for all of us for a while but hopefully a nice tidy resolution in the end that leaves us feeling more content. *sigh*

Perfect music to make me want to sit here hogging Jim's computer. Sounds like a few raised voices in the middle (mild disagreement perhaps?), but then calm words are spoken and everything gets smoothed out by the end. Very sweet. Nice that it gave you 6:43 of contentment.

Aaaah, Fauré's Pavane. I can see how that could turn any blue day into sunshine. I was delighted to learn that Ravel was one of his students, which would explain how he went on to compose his own pavane, something I dearly love to play on my trusty horn.

Mark: Ah … Minnesota; home to such wonderful musicians. I love Leo Kottke's playing (only an idiot would not) and especially his quirky songwriting.
I have just put on his album "My Father's Face" with - amidst all that wonderful picking - such gems as "Everybody Lies", "Why Can't You Fix My Car?", "Back In Buffalo" and the incomparable "Jack Gets Up"; one of my all time favourite songs.
Thank you for yet another reason to love Minnesota.
