Lazy Post

Well, it's that time of year again when all the American bloggers go missing. They're off stuffing their faces with turkey and crap and bickering with their families.
We don't do Thanksgiving over here, and my pictorial Thanksgiving post from last year says just about all I have to say on the subject.

I wonder if the surviving Native Americans celebrate "That's the last time we ever help anyone out again" day?

I have a lot to do today, and I really can't be bothered insulting Americans yet again, so rather than rant, I'll point you in the direction of one of the funniest things ever written: "Thanksgiving With The Dead (And A Chihuahua)" Sassy's strange day stuck in a David Lynch movie is still the best Thanksgiving story ever.
Enjoy.

And I suppose I'd better wish a Happy Thanksgiving to my Yankee blogpals.
Stuff yourselves silly, guys, then go steal some Native American land.

Honestly, I'm not all that into Thanksgiving myself, but it's one of those things I have to show up for. Glad you still like my strange story. We had a good yuck over the Brunts last night. I think my mom was trying to convince me that I should let her invite guests again so that I could continue to get good material. I set her straight.

I read sassy's story and laughed my ass off. But, since I just got back from my sister's Thanksgiving dinner and had to drink myself insane in order not to slap my racist pee butt brother in law, I'm not sure if I was laughing because it was funny or laughing because I am so fucking glad to be home and away from my relatives....

And Liv reminded me this morning that since she is half Lakota, perhaps Thanksgiving was not a happy day for her. I told her to just be thankful for her family today.

"Even Uncle Tom?" she asked.

"No...let's skip that jackass. In fact, let's just be glad for your Dad, Bing, you and me, okay?"

The good news is that I didn't have to wake up to an alarm today. I slept until 9 a.m. like a proper heathen.

Caffeine, Joy. Lots of caffeine.

Maria: Liv has a good point there. Perhaps you should have a big party on the anniversary of Little Big Horn, when the Lakota kicked whitey's butt.

And I'm laughing my own fat white ass off here; Uncle Tom must be the most hilarious name for a racist ever!

I'm glad you survived the family.
Love to Liv and Bing

Lissen, ole son,
It's fascinating to waft into all the odd cultures 'round the universe.
I don't have the foggiest notion whence the thanksgiving thing emanated.
I can thank you for all your crap-an-shit and laugh at your beautiful twisted humour.
That's comfortable and entertaining, but I'm at a complete loss, when it comes to the turkey-fest.
So, I'll just thank you my friend.
I really don't have a clue about all this.
Let's just kiss people, it's more personal ?

Actually, I did kind of stuff my face with turkey and stuffing and wheat berry salad--a wonderful dish. Today, it's more eating with oven pancakes and scones and lime curd. I'm going to be ill, but with a thankful heart.

Thanksgiving certainly is an odd thing to celebrate, Monsieur B; a few shacks full of religious fundamentalists are stupidly helped to survive by the locals who are then massacred and have their land stolen.
And people gorge themselves on turkey to commemorate it.

The things folk do to celebrate stuff is quite beyond me. I keep thinking of how Jesus would feel were he to come back to find Christians worshipping an image of him getting crucified.
And eating chocolate eggs and partying to commemorate the occasion.
He'd smite the lot of 'em!

Robyn, I am so glad you had a good time. Eating yourself spherical seems a splendid way of keeping America ahead in the obesity race.

Oh, poo on your stinky attitude, Dive. There was no actual gorging here, just full plates. And actually, today has turned out to be relaxing with naps and walks in the cold and bouncing dogs lapping up goose poop from the pond. Oh, and a persnickety cat.

Mmmm … Goose poop!
I love the word "persnickety" Robyn, my spherical friend (OW!!)
