"I don't take a good photo." says Joy …

… Yeah, right!
People of Blogville, meet the face behind Norwich Daily Photo, Your Love Coach, and wonderful womens' website The Goddess In You.
Beautiful, devastatingly intelligent, funny, charming; the very lovely Joy.
Joy met Old Dive for coffee in the bookshop this morning.
We were supposed to be a foursome, but her husband quite reasonably refused to get out of bed at that unearthly hour and my brother Phil cried off as he is putting up a new fence (in this weather … Brrrr), so there were just the two of us.
But hey, if she'll excuse me saying so, having coffee with someone as smart and pretty as Joy is not exactly the most upsetting thing I have ever done.
Being a greedy pig I'd already had one breakfast, chatting away with Rugby Guy and munching the sweet sticky goodness of yet another festive mince tart and then Joy arrived and insisted (bless her) on paying for my second espresso.
Joy is instantly delightful company and we sat talking for an hour or so about all sorts of things (including you lot), then wandered across the city centre to Borders, remarking on the crap Christmas decorations we saw along the way.
When we left the coffee shop the cold slammed into us, the wind coming straight down from the arctic. Brrr!
By way of contrast Joy is going to spend the holidays in the Phillipines (where they do Christmas a lot better), among soft white sand and palm trees and warm blue skies, which kinda made me more than slightly jealous.
Norwich is a tiny city, so we'll probably do this again before long and maybe persuade Thom to get his ass out of bed one morning and Phil to finish his fence and come along, too. Photos will be posted.
Joy also has her own radio show on Future Radio, Norwich's community radio station, though their signal - like much else good in the world - doesn't reach out as far as my village, so I have a favour to ask you all.
Future Radio puts a lot of its shows out as podcasts, but not Joy's (at least not yet), so I ask the citizens of Blogville to help out Old Dive by emailing the radio station (their contact address is on the right hand side of the website on the link) and requesting that Joy's show (which is called "Usapang Pinoy") is added to their podcast list.
Do it now so you won't forget.
Cheers.
And thanks again to Joy for putting up with Old Dive.

Hey, Dive! Wow - you blog quite fast. I enjoyed every minute of it. And yes, I shall make sure Thom joins us next Saturday.
Thanks for the lovely company - and I must say, you have a very good camera :-)
Will read past posts on other cyberspace friends you've met. And hoping to meet Phil next time.

The Goddess In You
We'll be there, Joy (though I may have to kick him a bit).
Thanks again for coming. You really are great company.
Sorry I missed it but as it was such a lovely day to be in the garden, I just had to rip the snot out of my shrubs, tear down the old fence and build a new one.
It was only 2 degrees C and spitting from 8:00am until around 2:30pm when we got the last panel up.
Sounds like you had a more relaxed morning than I did.
Aww Joy i'm jealous! Been trying to make that coffee place for ages. I will get there though. Glad you had a good time, it looks fab.
The wonders of blogging - great stuff guys and i am soooo jealous. When are we going to have coffee Dive???
PNG has the best coffee but you have the best croissants - hee hee!!!
You mean you didn't run indoors, shouting "It's SPITTING!" like a bunch of kids in the playground, Phil?
Hee hee.
I'll have to pop over and see the new fence (what exciting lives we lead).
And yes; be there next Saturday!
And Lynn; one day we'll persuade you to come along, too. I can't wait!
Jules: Put the kettle on; I'll start swimming now. I should be there in a couple of years or so.
I have always thought it would be so much fun to sit with one of my readers in person and just talk and share opinions on all the rest of you......Isn't blogville just such an interesting place?
And Joy does indeed take a lovely picture....
She does indeed, Maria.
And we are hopefully meeting again on Saturday with her husband Thom and Phil the Monkey God.
I've now met with (other than friends and family) Ame and Bear from "Santa Clara Daily Photo" and Robyn and her family from "Just Sayin'" as well as Joy, and we had a marvellous time.
Blogville is a wonderful place to live.
Indeed it is, dive! I have made so many friends online and meeting them in person is such a thrill. A friend based in Sydney (Australia) paid me a visit here back in November 2003. She wasn't very happy with the weather, and was not prepared at all. She said that autumn over here is much colder than their winter! We have been invited to her wedding in May 2008. I can only hope we can go - hubby needs more annual leave.
And thanks Maria! That's so sweet of you to say.
