Let's Make A Racket - XXXII

Fuck politics; let's dance!

For this Thursday's Racket I'd got a slow acoustic blues lined up: The Blind Willies attempt at Robert Johnson's "Come On In My Kitchen".

That's a lovely song, but I fancy something a little noisier, so I'll do another two for the price of one post and add one you've probably heard already, but which is pretty apt for the US voting public after eight years of rank insanity: "Done Got Wise".

Toodle pip!

Nice !

You know the dumb thing is that when I open the comment box it stops the music, which is awfully frustrating.

If you chose the option "open comments in a new box" in blogger, perhaps we could keep the music. That would be great. Care to give it a go?

Stopping my music is usually considered a good thing, Nathalie.

Besides which, I hate those poxy little pop-up boxes almost as much as those loathesome "verification" things that some people insist on inflicting on us.
Sorry, but I woudn't be "Dive" if I weren't awkward and grumpy.
Hee hee.

Oh how the memories come back, was Michael playing on his home made steel or the new posh one????

As for the second track. love it when the guitars talk to one another....have you got a track of when you and Ian did dueling banjo's???

That was a really old one with Michael playing his home-made box.

And no; I've got nothing from the Ian days on tape.
Probably just as well.

Well, I loved the first one and liked that it helped me ease into morning. But then I loved the second one and liked that it helped to do more than ease into it but welcome it, too.

Thank you, young Robyn; it is nice to be appreciated.

Ah, Thursday Racket. And a two-fer to boot! I very much like both tunes; the second one I played twice at home while fixing my lunch to bring to work. And now I'm about to play both again loudly at work before anyone comes in.

As far as comments section go, I have to side with Nathalie. I much prefer the pop-up box because I can reference the original post as I try to put together a coherent comment. Plus music keeps playing, as she mentions. I had no idea you had such a hatred of the pop-up comments section! The verification thing is annoying (I disabled mine recently), but the fear of spam is great, so I don't mind when other people have them. Vive la difference!

I prefer the Kitchen song! It's so jazzy, bluesy. :)

Katie and Joy: I'm so glad you liked it.
I'm just home from Japanese class and pooped so I'm off to bed. Nighty-night.

Here it is Sunday p.m. and I am just now tuning into the racket. Sorry, I've been so damned busy with this on-line grad class. After I'm finished making dinner and running the kids around I have to log into my "Class". Good thing I only have one more week to go! Thanks again Dive! I loved "Done got Wise" the first time I heard it and I still love it. Beautiful soulful rendition of "Come on in my Kitchen". I may play these for my students tomorrow.
