I Know It's Hot In Hell, But …

Had I realised that today is April 1st I would have prepared an elaborate April Fool's post, probably about the new skyscraper they're building in my village to house our local turnip museum.

But I am somewhat out of touch with reality at the moment, so you're stuck with what might appear to be an April Fool's joke but is in fact absolutely real.

This splendid edifice, dear reader, is the beautiful and august Saint Peter Mancroft Church, which you may have already met in my idiots' guide to the prettier parts of Norwich.

In this churchyard are buried many of Norfolk's illuminaries.
Saint Peter Mancroft is one of Norwich's most important churches and is sited right in the centre of the city by the marketplace.
To be buried in the churchyard is a signal honour, given only to a choice few of our finest citizens.

The inappropriateness of this little sign had me giggling all the way to the coffee shop.
