Arse

I'll steer clear of gun control and the human condition this morning; there are enough shouty, ignorant people on the radio and TV trying to defend the indefensible.
I'm depressed enough as it is.
I can't be arsed to write about it; just click on the label link under this crappy post.
The sooner global warming and viral pandemics wipe every last one of us fuckers off the planet, the better.

I'm mostly surprised that some people are surprised about the events in Virginia. If people are allowed to have guns, they will use them. It's that simple. Once the NRA stops financially supporting the politicians, some of them might actually have the balls to address the issue properly.

On a lighter note, you should be Mister Happy. If I had just newly rediscovered that my chest was good as a pillow, I'd be swinging from the rafters, Boss.

I'd love to discover if your chest is as good as a pillow, GG.

Hehe, you're just still worked up after the tectonic plate sweet talk.

I hate to interrupt the frisky exchange here, you two, but....

I had always thought our gun laws were federal, but there are surprising state laws in effect, and Virginia's laws are the 2nd weakest in the nation--no background checks or waiting periods like in most other states. It will be interesting to learn how this young man got his weapons.

Some guy from the NRA was moaning on the radio this morning about how STRICT the gun laws have become in Virginia, since they have tightened it to allow you to only purchase one gun per month …
er …

Guns schmuns! The ideas behind the "right to bear arms" were put to rest long ago. None the less, I think the greater crime is the ham-fisted treatment the media is and will continue to take on it. Whores! Every last one of them.

Hey, FH; please don't impugn the fine and humanitarian work whores carry out by throwing them in the same sewer as the press!
Yikes!

Shows how out of touch i've been today, didn't even know about the shootings.
Then again when i'm wearing thigh high leopard skin boots i'm never serious.
But I will be for the sake of commenting on the situation.

Buffy's mother said it best when she said "you can't stop evil, it's in everyone and always has been."

It's not the gun that kills its the guy that pulls the trigger.

Dive, you are right. I mean the press.

Kate: I like your style. Leopard skin boots... Fantastic! I need to get me some of those.

As you may well know, I have a fascination and respect for the real whores. (see my post on living in a prostitution friendly state).

Quite right, too, FH.

And Kate: never mind the description, where's the photo?

Gun laws - hmmm I think in the situatin at V tech if one of those students had a gun maybe they could have defended themselves and their classmates as well.

The government wants to take our guns to rend us helpless so we will rely on them more. Something I want NO part of I will defend myself thank you.

Rich, a lot of people share your opinion, not wanting to rely on the government too much unless a refund of some sort is involved. I'm all for stricter gun laws, but you can't weed out the crazies with standard screening. If something ugly is brewing below the surface, it won't come out in a simple background check.

Rich, I fully respect your Constitutional right to bear arms (especially as the British may be coming at any minute to make you pick all the tea-leaves out of Beantown Harbour), and as Robyn says, without full psychiatric histories of every gun owner (and even with them), you're not likely to spot all the crackpots.
I don't see a solution myself. Tragedies like this have been happening since Cain picked up a rock.
Now … about that tea …

Yep. Well-regulated militias equal lone troubled students weilding guns through school buildings.

Someday Charlton Heston's hands will be cold and dead.

Hey, Sassy. How's the upacking going?

Sassy Sundry said...

It's going. I'll post soon.

Right now I'm back at work trying to remember what it is I do.

You are a mild mannered office girl who was bitten by a radioactive sloth when a child. At the first sign of trouble you can lay there on the sofa and say "whatever".
An awesome superpower, young Sassy.
Use it wisely …
