So anyhoo …
I've been moved around the building a little as they've been trying to sort us out into teams who no longer have to shout right across the room.
This is my new workstation. My old one was four places to the left and back one, looking out at the Castle, but now I'm right in the middle at the front of the building and get to look at the Cathedral.
Yay!
Yes, that's Pont Neuf on my desktop. I'm still jonesing for Paris after our cancelled office trip and it's a heavy hint dropped to the partners.
The view out of my window is some compensation, however. I make no apology for boring you with endless photos of the same scene. It's just kinda spiffy. My last office looked out at the wall of Francine(no apostrophe)s Pie Shop and the one before that gave me a splendid view of a London traffic jam, so indulge me a little.
We were treated to a sunshower at sunset yesterday. These photos are straight out of the camera, by the way; I've not enhanced them at all. It was a truly orange experience. If I'd brought the big camera with a polarising filter it would have been even more extreme.
But I didn't.
The orange stuff falling out of the clouds is a light rain shower catching the rays of the setting sun. The rain kept washing across the sky in waves of … er … orange, and we all stood and gaped for a few minutes. Beautiful stuff.
So … that's where I sit now. Just so you know.

I am really happy you are back in the city..looks great.
How beautiful... while the building is Brutal the view from it is not. Seems like a place that encourages innovative thinking. Good for you, makes for happier work and co-workers.
I'm not back in the city, Mum, I'm back FROM the city.
However, I will be going back to the city tomorrow for breakfast.
Or something like that anyway.
A place like that encourages lots of starting at the sky, Speedway. I must confess, however, that it is a wonderfully refreshing place to work; just look up and all the stress falls away.

And your desk is so neat and orderly! (But of course it would be.) I sometimes think the documents in the trays on my desk procreate after hours as an evil joke.
I am merciless with my in tray, Ms.M. for just that reason. Trouble breeds like crazy in such places.
I like to keep a good area of my desk clean and clear, mostly because I like to sit on it and chat over coffee, but also because I tend to design by debate and a space like that is perfect for two or three people to gather round and thrash things out with pieces of paper and pencils (the old fashioned way) before working stuff up on the computers.
