Cock

Okay … Do we really need any captions here?
This is the ECN building in Norwich, home of Eastern Counties Newspapers and one of the many reasons why Architects are regularly smacked around the head by passers-by in our otherwise lovely city.

As if to emphasise that what they write in their papers is a load of old cock, they have attached a representation of said appendage to the "crotch" of their stupid building …

er …
What can one say?
Cock is what it looks like and cock is what it is …
Click on it to make it bigger if you must.

I will NOT click on it to make it larger. What a bizarre...um...appendage. And what a hideous building.

Robyn, I am so relieved to hear that.

And you are right about the building, too. That's the kind of thing that makes people hiss and back away, crossing themselves when I say I'm an Architect (or at least I hope that's the reason they do it) …

Please tell me you don't archetect big, ugly, institutional, foul appendage-laden crap like this building. A building should be inviting, not nauseating. Pardon my surliness, I'm pouring the coffee right now.

Definitely no, FH.
Check my work on the "work" link at the bottom of my sidebar.

In Paris, all the girly-type statues have certain bits shinier than others and so it should be.
So why is this gargantual knob so shiny. You'd need a team of German cleaning ladies,,, so to speak.
Are German knobs as shiny as British ones,,,

Come ooooooooooooooooooooon DB!

That's not a rooster it's a BEAD! See the little accent one there behind it? OH, and those smaller ones are called "Seed" beads....soooooooooo...

Maybe they're just trying to be a little cocky and say they're "seedy!"

Did this make ANY sense at ALLLLL???!?!?!?

I need chocolate!
=))) xo

It is rather shiny. In the states, it's customary to rub a statue for good luck--like at Harvard, the shoe of the man who is supposedly Harvard but isn't is very shiny. The SHOE. It's all people can reach from ground level.

And at another college I visited last year, it's the NOSE of some old guy.

Americans can be so repressed. hee hee

Monsieur B. I am pleased to say that I am no expert on shiny German knobs. Though this one is obviously well-loved and polished by somebody …

Hi, Ame!
The day you start making sense will be a sad day for the world.

Robyn: I'm sure I dont know what you mean, young lady!

Ewwwww. Yucky.

Why do people make phalic things like that???????

Icky.

Even ickier than all the boxes I have around my new place (we are in the midst of a fucking gale, so I can't buy anything to help me organize any of my stuff).

So.... What's up with the lady, Dive?

Woohoo!
Sassy is successfully relocated.

lol erm i've thought of writing for this paper when i visit sometimes... lol! Why on earth could they not see what this clearly looks like?? Funny, Dive. Very funny. Personally i love the shiny gold material though, what is it?

I have no idea, Lynn.
It's not copper or bronze; probably some alloy that doesn't need cleaning to save some poor sap from being seen polishing the stupid thing.
And please, come and write for the EDP; the only thing in it worth reading is the crossword.
