I just found a little message on Lynn's blog from MB that at long last, after their Homeric Odyssey Mme. and himself have arrived safely home, lugging half of Europe with them.
While they put the kettle on and put their feet up for a well-earned rest I'd just like to say "welcome home" and "thank you for coming all the way up here to visit us all. You are wonderful, generous and loving people and you brightened the lives of everyone who met you."
When are you coming back?

Oh thanks Dive. Wow that was a long trip even for those of us not on it! ;) It'll be fun to hear from them again. I'll bet Mme is still too busy smooching on all her kitties to post just yet. MB is downloading buckets of photos no doubt.
Isn't it great, this trip they've been on? I can't imagine the thought s in their heads as they sit, once again at home.
I would imagine they just dumped all the stuff in the middle of the floor and collapsed into bed, Shan.
It must have been exhausting!
Lynn: They probably thought: "What on earth were we thinking? All those dreadful people!"
Hee hee.
Gawd. I hope not. LOL.
I don't know about them but I am exhausted from just following them around!! Jet lag is something to endure when you live at the far end of the globe!!!
I am so jealous they have met you all and I'm sure they don't think you were THAT bad..... you were on your best behaviour I hope!!!!
What a long, strange trip it's been! They have been traveling for quite a while. I would collapse happily at home! Our dad, the semi-conductor is presently visiting Prague, Budapest and Vienna on a 10-day "singles" tour. At 71, he refuses to tire. He said he is always outnumbered by the ladies. I don't think any of them could keep up with him. I barely can.
What a great host you are, dive. Did you do any cooking for them while they were vsiting?
Hee hee, Lynn!
Jules: I am ALWAYS on my best behaviour.
Neetzy: Hoorah for your dad! We don't have that "singles" thing over here. I wish we did; it would save me sitting here alone feeling miserable.
Hey ho.
Rich: I'm afraid not. People come here to see London; only the masochistic would venture out into the wilds of the Back of Beyond where I live.
I did, Rich! I cooked them baked salmon in herbs, garlic and wine, with roast new potatoes in lemon and salad. Hurrah. lol
Instead of asking when they'll be back, why don't you and I plan when you're flying to Australia?
Lynn: yum!
Joy: That will be years away yet, I'm afraid.
And besides, all I have to do is stay here and people come and visit. Katie's coming next week. Yay!
I think it is WAY time for all you good people to visit the states, especially the prairie...
Hee, hee, what fun reading all of your comments. Gosh, I feel like a celebrity. We ARE home and it is absolutely wonderful having all of my kitties around me again. Our email is on the blink though so we're still sorting through the 900 odd that came through while we were away.
Thank you so much everyone for your generosity and love - we had such a fantastic time.
Maria: believe me, when I eventually get over the pond I'll be invading your place, stealing Bing for a jam session and eating most of your garden before going to watch the Huskers!
Welcome beack, Mme!
I am so glad you're home safe.
Thank you again for visiting and for being so absolutely wonderful to me!
I am lost for words, Dive, old son !!!
You all blow me away.
I really feel deeply privileged to think that so many of our friends have been following our travels around the Northern Blogosphere.
To answer everyone's questions I have decided to temporarily suspend Adelaide DP and deliver a slideshow of our Blog-Holiday.
After having presented Tewkesbury today (Friday 3 Oct), it's London tomorrow.
I hope you will enjoy re-living the ride as much as I have enjoyed the ride.
Shan is right; it was a long holiday, but I didn't realize it was also long for others... sort-of me being on the outside looking in !!!
Lynn asked about our thoughts "in their heads as they sit, once again at home".
Well; I can say that I am learning more about this marathon as I read all your comments !! Which brings me back to my first remark. "I am lost for words, Dive, old son !!! You all blow me away." It's really odd, I am enormously complimented by all your comments.
Jules is exhausted and so was Rob, (Herr Schaussengraben), my old Adelaide pal.
Neetzy said..."but I am exhausted from just following them around!!" Crikey ! I don't blame you. And Rich- bless his soul- said, "What a great host you are, dive."
Well that is the closest to the truth of all.
Dive was a FABULOUS host, Rich. You will see him on ADP on Sat. 4th October.
Joy seems to know how to manage your prognosis old son.
Joy, can you gift wrap him and send him down to us for a holiday. He deserves it after all the thoughtful kindness he showed us !!
And last but not least; EVERYBODY should go to lunch at Lynn's.
WOW, that was wonderful. Thank you, Lynn.
We'll be back in a flash. (Hint;- that's a key word. A post in several day's time !)
Ah, Monsieur!
Welcome back to Blogville from your marathon tour of the planet!
I must comfess that reading and looking at your post today from Tewkesbury I got all excited again, like a little kid. I can't wait to see the whole lot!
Fantastic!
We (Lynn and I) were frantically searching through the French blogs trying to track you down and at one point we lost sight of you only for you to surface somewhere else. It was fun!
If you click down in my links on the "Mme et M. Benaut à Londres" link you will be amazed at the sheer volume of bloggers who have been following you around!
I got so many comments on those posts!
Not just the people you visited, but lots of others have cottoned on to the fact that you are both wonderful and worth cherishing.
Rob introduced himself back then and he has had some tales to tell! Hee hee. Just what happened when you rolled your dad's car?
I am sitting here grinning like a fool at the wonderful memories of your visit. I can't wait to see the whole tour on your site.
Oh, and now you are safely home I shall kick myself up the rear and get the CD of photos off to you!
Cheers!
