The first version is from a session very late one night down at the Blues Club, featuring Michael, Steve, Dave, Laurie and myself.
At the end of the gig, after the standard, raucous encores the few remaining drunks still wanted more, so we all looked at one another quizzically until Michael said "How about Dylan's old Corinna, Corinna"?
We said "Sure." though none of us had ever played it before, but it's a song we all knew and loved so Michael started us off and away we went.
You can tell we are figuring out what to play as we go along, especially in my solo, but Laurie always plays such subtle sax and Michael's piano solo in this version is just beautiful.
In honour of that solo, here is a photo of him wearing a particularly splendid hat and seemingly lost in a little Michael-sized reverie.A couple of weeks later we recorded a version at a Cheese Mechanics rehearsal with Neil on harmonica and Ron on drums. I played a slightly more together solo but it's the first bar of Neil's harmonica solo that floats my boat.
It's a song that we always play now whenever we get together. One of those gentle, swaying tunes that have us all nodding and smiling like the band in The Muppets.

Oh dear that has brought me to tears this morning, loved watching you all play that, I know your solo was more sure in the one with the harmonica, but I love the one with Michael playing the lead.. took me back to those days, and Michael and his hat...thank you..x

I enjoyed both versions here, but the second really is smooth. I have listened to it three times now and might just listen again.

Hee hee. Hey, Prudence! If you're wondering why your CDs haven't arrived yet it is because they're still sitting here on the table (EEK). The Post Office have stopped selling those little cardboard boxes for mailing CDs (something I only discovered after queueing for forty minutes, damn them) but I know I have some in the attic. I'll be going up there at the weekend and will hunt one down and send them.
Hi, Robyn. Yup, the Muppet Band is an all time favourite. I'm glad you enjoyed the song. The second one was recorded in Ethel Rump's place (if you remember that far back).

When you go back for dinner, you'd be surprised at the transformation of the place. Won't be so peach-y anymore!

He's a librarian magnet (both Michael and Miriam are librarians, and yes, she is a babe).
The restaurant was indeed kinda peachy but in a nice way. The food was delicious and SO CHEAP!

Great music. Racket takes on a whole new meaning listening to these tracks! For the first time I was able to listen to these at work, as the other woman who comes in early is out today. Sure makes work a nicer place to be! Well, as much as that's possible. I think I'll listen to these again until some else comes in and tells me to turn down my speakers! I wish I gave you half of everything I had before tucking into it. That way we wouldn't have wasted the food I couldn't finish. And I was still drinking my Looza when you got up, so I had to leave it :p
But the food you sampled, my darling husband wanted me to tell you, was nothing compared to the quality of food you can savour at dinnertime (and by that I mean the meal eaten from 6pm onwards - right, Katie?)
