So …
Let's dig around in my old photo boxes …
Ah!
Here's one that could do with a caption, should anyone feel like providing one.
Oh, that's Lowestoft lighthouse up on the hill at the top left. I'd gone to photograph it but had got somewhat distracted by these old dears.
Note: For the Colonial readers, these rather stern old ladies are bowling. The thing you call bowling is actually skittles.
This is the real thing as apocryphally practised by Sir Francis Drake as the Spanish Armada approached.
I do so enjoy being a patronising and insulting bastard. It cheers me right up.

is that what you're doing? bless your heart, sugar, i just thought you were being english! xox ;-)
Hee hee hee!
Yes, we are a patronising bunch toward our rebellious children.
If only Americans would learn to spell instead of using that joke dictionary old Noah Webster wrote for a laugh. Hey ho.
Bowling, huh? Let's see some pictures of what it is they're knocking down.
"Here's one that could do with a caption"
"Gert, I'm tellin ya if you lift your leg like this you can really let one rip!"
nice turn of phrase; nice legs you have over there.
Let 'er rip. Boris !
Hee hee, Robyn. We are not so destructive as our rebellious colonial children. The idea of crown green bowls is to get as many of your woods nestled lovingly around the little white jack as possible, not to knock the crap out of a bunch of defenceless skittles.
Prudence: Hee hee hee!
BBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAAPPPP!!!!!!
Monsieur B: We like our dolly birds mature over here.
Uhhhh. Ok but, can you still eat the skittles when your blood sugars low?
Sorry, kids say the dumbest things.
I only know one older lady that could do that. You seem to have a hearty stock of seniors over there! (Unless that's a video and she was wedged in that pose for the whole loop!)
I call that Bocce Ball round these parts.
It's very popular in the retirement homes in Florida.
Love Prudence's caption! That was awesome!
Blimey i'm more than confused now. I thought this was bowls and the thing you go out with your mates to the alley is bowling, and skittles is something you do in the back of a pub on a wooden floor. he he ?
Great photo. I wouldn't like to contest a score with them would you?
Caption: "Great disguise this, Mabel, we need it now after that Amanda exposed us all over her office. Your stocking tops are really doing it for me."
here's a caption: "Old bitter balls" hmmmm... I've heard that one before somewhere.
Shan: you have a weird, yet wonderful imagination.
Bocce Ball? Wow! Not heard of that one, Shazza. And what are you doing hanging around retirement homes in Florida?
Lynn: Yes, regretfully, the scaled-up bar-skittles with the skill taken away that is "ten pin bowling" seems to have seeped over from the States recently.
An excellent if slightly disturbing caption. Hee hee.
Rich: Hee hee hee. Old and bitter indeed.
"And I reached out like this Flo and got a big handfull of his bollocks"
Hee hee, but also EWWW!
he he and... i kind of wish we had the next shot ... and then again not. Yes, ew.
Yep, I'm a wierdie but skittles in the US of A are a delicious chewy candy with a rainbow of flavor. ( Not bowling pins?). I figured if you hadn't heard of Bocci ball then maybe the candy was foreign as well. That game does look like Bocci only it's an Italian game and their balls are smaller. Take that as a double meaning if you will. I'm too much of a lady. ;)
Hee hee hee … ahem!
I'm going through healthy knee jealousy right now. I am looking at that bowler's knees and just sick with jealousy. I bet HER knees don't click and lock.
Ah, but you look a whole lot better!
I've got another word in mind - definitely not patronising! :D
I love it when I confuse people over here - like when I say, "Hey, I like your pants."
