Those are homes, Katherine. One of them has a godawful tourist trap teddy bear shop underneath, which is a shame. There are a few more shops scattered along the street but they are decent ones (a bookshop, an art gallery and a wine shop). This street gets used a lot in movies and TV so they leave it pretty unspoiled.
This is late morning light, Ms.M. The sun is real low because I took it in winter and we're pretty far north here so it doesn't get much higher than that around Christmas.
I'd love to see this street now, sugar! Here in my little town, we have a similar situation, historic streets that are frequently used for movies, so the character of downtown has remained almost constant. xoxoxoo
Lovely. We have a similar situation here. Certain streets in Pasadena and Altadena are often used for filming. Heaven forbid anyone ever planted a palm tree or your street is out of the running, because it can no longer look like Anytown, USA.
Great tree shadow! I think I said before that I would like to use some of your photos for examples in my photo class this fall! You will get full credit. I always assign "dramatic shadows", "reflections in anything but mirrors", "architecture from the worm's eye view" and "bird's eye", etc. You have wonderful examples! This will be my first time teaching in digital.
Neetzy, you know you can use anything of mine without bothering to give credit. It would be cool, however, to see some of the results of your classes on your blog from time to time (if your students don't mind).

It's the one saving grace of movies and TV, Savannah; the traffic disruption can be hell but at least they leave the old buildings intact.
