Japan Day

It was Japan Day at Norwich Forum today, raising money for the tsunami appeal.
The green tea flowed and the bento was delicious.
If you wanted a free shiatsu massage and a kimono dress-up lesson you've just missed the opportunity.
Here are a few photos from the day to celebrate the fact that that spring has finally arrived here and to remind anyone who has not yet given money to the appeal that you still have time.

Do click on the pictures. They're as big as the kimonos are beautiful. Enjoy!

 かわいい。
Isn't she just the cutest poppet you ever have seen?

We had a lovely time. The weather was perfect, the cherry blossom was amazing, the kimonos were sumptuous, the women beautiful, the music fantastic, the food delicious and that adorable little cutie in the photo gave me two folded cranes she had made.
If only all Saturday mornings were made that way.

I LOVE Taiko drummers. This looks so fun. Mostly, it is god to see that there is such a thing as Spring! We are getting buried in yet another snowstorm...

It was tremendous fun, Kate. Lots of drumming and more music between each session: some koto and shamisen among others.
Sorry about your lingering winter. We're at the same latitude here as the bottom of Hudson's Bay in Canada so if we have Spring here it cannot be far behind where you are in the Rockies.

Superb photos! Love the colorful kimonos and the light through the blossoms is exquisite! Looks like an excellent way to spend a Saturday.

Thank you so much, Ms.M.
It was indeed a lovely Saturday. Spring is my favourite season. April and May do their best to make up for the suckiness of the rest of the year.
Lynn posted her own photos of the day on FB if you want to check out how badly my bald patch and stomach are spreading. Yikes!

Aaww, I missed the event at the Forum - coz I was working on Saturday! Darn.

Love the spring shots. Looking forward to snapping some myself. How are ya?

Hi, Joy! I'm fine, thank you. Yes, Spring is finally here so you'd better get busy with your camera.

Makes feel warm all over. Love the photos. That little girl is adorable. Looks like I missed about a week's worth of blogging. I've been a bit busy. Today it finally felt like spring. Tomorrow it will be cool and rainy AGAIN.

Neetzy, we had a frost again last night. Spring really is taking its sweet time getting going this year. It'll be high summer by the time it gets its ass into gear.
