First off, I've got to say a huge thank you to Vic for posting a photograph of Gayman wrapped around the shaft of a giant cock.
Click on the link.
You know you want to.
Cheers, Groover; that one's gonna keep me smiling all day.
And now comes yet another of her brilliant variations on Fracas Monday Melee.
First came "Groover's Photo Melee".
Now we have "Say It With Lyrics"!
Hey ho, here we go:
1: The Misanthropic.
(Name something - about humanity - you absolutely hate).
"I’m sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
I’ve had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of Tricky Dicky's
Gonna Mother Hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope
I’m sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mama’s little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth now
I’ve had enough of watching scenes
Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth"
John Lennon: "Gimme Some Truth"
2: The Meretricious:
(Expose someone or something that's phony, fraudulent or bogus).
"She said 'Listen, John; I love you,
But there's this bloke I fancy'"
Jilted John: "Jilted John"
Weemen! Huh!
3: The Malcontent:
(Name something you're unhappy with).
"Why do I keep fucking up?"
Neil Young: "Fucking Up"
4: The Meritorious.
(Give someone credit for something and name it if you can).
"See them big plantations burning
Hear the cracking of the whips
Smell that sweet magnolia blooming
See the ghosts of slav'ry ships
I can hear them tribes a-moaning
Hear the undertaker's bell
Yeah, nobody can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell"
Bob Dylan: "Blind Willie Mc.Tell"
5: The Mirror.
(See something good about yourself and name it).
"I am woman, hear me roar …"
Helen Reddy: "I am Woman"
… er … Hang on; that's not right.
um … How about:
"When I think about you I touch myself."
The Divinyls: "I Touch Myself"
or even:
"I've got two legs
From my hips to the ground
And when I move' em they walk around
And when I lift 'em they climb the stairs
And when I shave 'em they ain't got hairs."
Monty Python: "I've Got Two Legs"
That's better.
6: The Make-Believe:
(Name something you wish for).
"I wanna nasty little Jewish Princess
With a couple of sisters who can raise a few blisters …
She can even be poor
As long as she does it with four on the floor"
Frank Zappa: "Jewish Princess"
er … That's not right, either … Sorry.
Let's get sappy instead.
"Get wiser, not just older
Draw her near and hold her"
Silje Nergaard: "Borrowing Moons"
Vic, you so totally rule with this idea. Let's make it a regular thing.

Well done Dive, and vic and i were having such a hard time coming up with a number five of our own.
Hee hee.
This is such a brilliant idea, Kate.
I had to narrow my selection down from about five hundred pages of lyrical snippets.
Yeah, I know I spend too much time on the train thinking about crap.
Hey ho.
Vic is beyond brilliant, she's as sexy as hell as well.
If only us mere humans could aspire to be such.
Yup.
What a shame I'm an ugly middle-aged man and not a hot young Aussie girl who could chase after Vic.
Though you can't complain, Kate; you're a babe.
I hope you do make it a regular thing. I love reading the melees on Monday mornings--a great start to the week.
Join us, T.
It saves having to think of anything interesting on a Monday; you can simply rant instead.
gosh, I wish I listened to music with words.
So what's Beethoven's ninth?
Or Handel's Messiah?
C'mon, Robyn; you don't get out of it that easily.
You're right about Kate, Dive. She is an absolute babe. She's also a teasing smartass.
I don't know if I could cope with once a month for this sort of thing, but definately it should be regular. What about once every two?
Another idea in the pipeline is Pink Floyd week....
And are you in fro InDruBloDa? It's on the 11th of this month.
Teasing smartass … hee hee.
A Floyd Week sounds fun.
As for the Drunk Blogging: the last one almost killed me so I'll just sit back and laugh at everyone else this time around.
Well. Whilst a lot of that was another language to me, i DID click on the link. Yes. I did. HUGELY disappointing. Good photo though.
Hehehehehehehe
Ok people on a totally unrelated topic, the blogville photo is coming along nicely and i may add sacraregiously.
I need a few pics so i'll contact you guys cause most of the first composite will be profile shots so you can show off your best side and yes rich you may use a coffee cup. :)))))
I'm sitting on my best side.
your the only one in the pic that is full frontal so i've got you covered hun. :)
ps - the hell pics, i looked them up and they look like the muppets after a coke fueled orgy. Ever seen a movie called meet the feebles? well i think i just met them.
Hee hee. I think he must have painted them at one of my after-gig parties in the early eighties.
Jeez, now I DO feel old.
Floyd week it is then. Good stuff. Just let me drink myself through InDruBloDa (you lightweight) before picking a date.
Oh and I got another guitar on the weekend... teehee.
AAAAARGHHHHHH!
Any chance of a photo of this one, Vic?
Tricky Dicky and Mother Hubbard soft soap me! Woo Hoo.. I love those lines.
There are many from Neil that would fit into all catagories!
Helen Reddy? You almost forced me to but up Manilow lyrics! Don't do it again!
You also could have gone with...
Zappa-Dinah-moe Humm
I dont mind that she called me a bum,But I knew right away she was really gonna cum
(so I got down to it)
I whipped off her bloomersn stiffened my thumb An applied rotation on her sugar plum!
Hee hee, Prudence. Hoorah for Uncle Frank!
Sorry about the Helen Reddy.
Actually the only version of that song I own is Bongwater's pisstake of it:
"I am woman, see me roar,
I'll get down there on the floor … etc."
Of course you are forgiven. Amen on Uncle Frank. There is a lyric on my blog that will make you wanna slap me too!
I'm on my way over.
And I'm bringing my slapping hand.
Dive, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Your site is always such an eye opener! Of course I clicked - how could I not and I think that Kate isn't the only smartass tease around the place. Can't wait for Kate's photoshop and love the idea of a lyrics Melee. Pink Floyd? I love Pink Floyd. When I lived in Paris I knew a flautist who once played with them on some movie music I think.
Anyway, it's the 7th August here so HAPPY BIRTHDAY from down under. Hope you have a fantastic day!
Lots of love from Mme Benaut xxxxx
Holy happy cow. Frank Zappa and Monty Python in one fell swoop. I am in a state of sheer happiness.
Monsieur B!
Thank you so much.
you are the first (and so far the only) person to wish me a happy blog birthday.
Maria: I like a woman with taste.
