Hokay.
I've managed to get a good enough connection to load a blog page.
Now what shall I do with it?
I know …
It's been a long time since I've induced apoplexy in Old Knudsen.
First it was my spice rack, then my Tiffany lamps, then my ironing.
Now …
Knitting patterns!
Woohoo!
Hey, I was over at Mum's yesterday, helping her load a couple of her sweaters onto Peahen's "Stitchin' Bints" blog.
Anyhoo, Mum got out her big book of old knitting patterns and I just cracked up at these gems from the sixties.
Dolly birds!
Woohoo!
Note the Jack Jones album in the first photo.
A sophisticated and sensual young lady with discerning musical taste.
hehehehehehehe …
Now there's a fashion that could do with a revival.
Whaddya say, girls?
Hee hee … OW!

oh my gawd! *L*
I can just imagine you knitting away listening to the Archers.
Here was a BBC headline I read: 'Dive to film Titanic rescue ship'
Thats a bit more manly.
From Mme:
Dive, these are just gorgeous, reminding me what it meant to be a young teenager. I had one of these dresses but crotcheted (sp?) by my grandmother who made it quite holey! I wore a body stocking underneath and nothing else and I thought I was oh, so glamorous in my knee high white lace up boots. Well, I was only 14 ...
xxx Mme
Ya know, that first one would be lovely if it went down to one's ankles and wasn't so....pink.
But what do I know? My socks don't match.
I'm converted. Completely. Throw out the old wardrobe and fill it with these ideas...
Yes, I too want to have gay men listening to my legs.
Ah, Mr. K.
I did indeed film the Titanic rescue ship.
With my team of crochet-clad dolly birds in white plastic boots.
And scarily, I do listen to The Archers. I'm an Englishman. It's compulsory.
Savannah, Mme Benaut, Katherine and Vic: I think those of you who wore these in the sixties and seventies should post photos and Vic; get crocheting.
They'd be gorgeous until the first wash then theres nothing worse than saggy baggy mutton in a droopy lamb knit. But the boots are fabulous
Hee hee.
Yup. Damp, floor-length minidresses. Ick, Kate.
I think I'll start a campaign to bring back the dolly bird.
Dive, I think the best part of this story is that your Mum confesses to knitting and wearing all three of these. I'm dead impressed. (Are there photos?) One day these will be highly fashionable (look at the sixties tunics walking around today - it won't be long). Alifan will have the last laugh then!
I can't wait for minis to come back into fashion, Pea.
And yes, there are photos of Mum wearing those. And of her winning Butlins' Miss Hot-Pants competition (hee hee hee OWW! Muuum!) but if I post them she will order a hit on me. Some old biddy with a sniper rifle will hunt me down.
Hmm, I swear I left a comment earlier, but it's been eaten.
I would love the white boots, but I don't think I could ever really walk in them. but the dresses--I think I had something similar when I was a kid, but I wasn't allowed hemlines so short. I must have had a more matronly version.
Hee hee. Matronly minidresses. That's a weird image, Robyn.
ooh yes i'll have the yellow one please, wrapped up nicely with the listening man, to go.
I have a feeling it would look a lot better on you than it does on the model, Lynn.
